KLAROLINE FALL BINGO PREVIEW.
@eliliyah @klarolinefallbingo
Prompt: Dias De Muertos
Honestly the relevancy of the prompt comes far to late in the story but itâs there, kinda. But hey itâs there.
MASQUERADES
(CinemaAU)
Sometimes all she needed was to take a breather. A single moment. One pause.
Breathe in.
To collect her thoughts and emotions. To steady her bearings.
To state in a repetitive loop all the reasons why punching one Niklaus Mikaelson in the balls would be a marginally bad idea.
And breathe out.
Forgive her, but The man was infuriating. Okay?
And unashamedly so. Not a whit of genuine compunction behind that facade of âInescapable Charisma and Unadulterated Allure.â
Definitely not her words.
Nope. No sir.
These were the words of a certain Greta Martin, editor-in-chief for the first October issue of People Magazine.
With one Mega-frustrating arrogant blonde blue-eyed dimpled asshat demon going by the name Klaus slapped to the front of said issue.
And Nope if anyone asks,
No, she did not literally just shred -In a shredding machine no less, because efficiency, thank you very much- the first copy of the magazine she bought, after reading the beginning eight lines on his exclusive, recounting what a âdelightfully satisfying and marvellous experience the entire three months of shooting turned out to be.â
Ok one Black-hole sized pause right there please.
Thank you.
A single beat.
And....
The Absolute Fuck?!
Sheâs sorry. Marvellous experience?
Excuse her, but say what?
Breathe in. Breathe out.
Beg pardon but What?
Excuse her.
But Marvellous experience, as in, aggressive quotation marks scratching the air âMarvellous experienceâ is NOT how she remembers it.
The slap in the face obvious discrepancy to both their stories is definitely not blind to her.
He called 84 re-takes that lasted four whole hours for one eight minute long single-shot single-angle scene, Marvellous.
He called having ice-cold Whiteclaw thrown square on his face by a Absolutely-done-with-wild-gust-of-agitated-Blonde-Fury on the eighth day of set, Marvellous.
He called having two separate make-up artists downright quit after being unable to touch up her makeup every thirteen seconds because she ran her hand down her face in unbridled aggravation every time her eyes landed on him, Marvellous.
He called the same experience where, she had to literally rush out of a set, under the ruse of a bathroom break, Twice in the course of three months, so that she can peacefully go through the motions of a rage-fueled emotional meltdown, complete with angry frustrated tears and a relentlessly colourful diatribe, cursing every man in her life who bore even a sliver of resemblance to the stormy-blue-eyed spawn of satan that was her co-actor, Marvellous.
God. How the hell did he possibly think he could get away with this,
How did he think he was going to smooth over the transparent inconsistencies between her interviews and his, without raising at least a few confused questions from bloodthirsty intuitive fans and the Press in general.
Given how her talk-show interviews and magazine exclusives gave the steady image, that
1. Klaus Mikaelson is a dick and a half, with an overgrown ego so ginormous that even the entirety of Tinseltown is âplainly restricting of his nonpareil talent in histrionic execution.â
2. Klaus Mikaelson is an arrogant narcissistic asshole that Hast pronounc'd upon his brethren yond this day f'rth that gent shalt with ev'ry smidgen of purpose in his life striveth to be the Unrivalled Bane of Caroline Forbesâ Existence.
3. The process of Creating the undeniable tour de force Masterpiece that was â100 years of solitude.â The newest Christopher Nolan Direction and Production in theatres right now, that already has definite Academy Awards Nomination in the talks, was anything but Marvellous. She admits, It was so so gratifying and made her heart full with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, that left her giddy with such lighthearted contentment for days, after the phenomenal response it garnered post-premiering, Yes. But that does not capsulate how frustratingly tiresome and emotionally debilitating the entire creation process was. Hell it was downright painful at times.
4. Would she voluntarily take another movie with Klaus Mikaelson as a Co-star alongside her? You can get back to her when the sun starts to rise from the west and the answer would still be a definitive NO.
Now of course she wasnât this brazen with her claims she knows how to be cute and classy and concise.
But she definitely did not mitigate the truth of her statement, sheâs had enough training with her PR department to know what to say and how to say it but sheâs sure that nobody had been able to overlook her less than companionable remarks about Klaus.
For example
The Stephen Colbert Show:
Stephen: âSo Caroline tell us about the process, the Making of it, how everything fell into place like tiny puzzle pieces to reveal at last this grand, Grand Picture.â
âThe process? Well the process was certainly not...pretty...but after every time we finished a scene, however small or inconsequential it may have seemed to the plot, there was this immense sense of âthere-Done it. And done it well.â â
Jimmy Kimmel Live:
âKlaus Mikaelson, well my Co-star is um....eccentric at best.....â
Jimmy: âand at worst?â
âWell..... I guessâ -hellish, heinously intolerable, a cruel mean bastard- â....Unyielding...?â
The Ellen Show:
âWell Klaus was a..... demanding partner and it took Herculean efforts to meet his exacting standards, but I can understand how that paid off so well on screen. The end result when I saw it for the first time, it damn well paid off.â
Ellen: âso he is absolved of his admittedly âuphillâ personality then?â
She laughs awkwardly,
âYe-ah....No.â
followed by more laughter dissolving the painstaking grimace sheâs trying to tamper down.
Oh and the worst.
The Late Late show with James Cordon:
During the âFill Your Guts or Spill Your Gutsâ segment
James: âSo....Iâm going to give you, letâs see, Ah there, the Bird Saliva.â
Caroline: âJames!.... Damn it, you are so not making it into my good books, and....God. Thatâs just disconcerting I mean, How do they even, I donât know... collect it?â
James: âWell thereâs a whole process of harvesting it from the salivary glands andââ
Caroline: âNever mind! Nope. No need for the details, please, James, a ladyâs delicate sensibilities are at stake. And unless the question is âwhat is your social security number?â Iâm not drinking this poison.â
James: âNow Caroline you wound me, I can assure you everything on this table is edible albeit being marginally unpalatableââ
Caroline: âMarginally?!â
James: âYou should try the Cowâs tongue. Itâs delectable.â Followed by a sagely nod.
Caroline: âNow Iâm just intensely bothered. Youâve definitely lost all claim for a spot in my good books.â
James: âAh well, speaking of staying in your good graces, hereâs a question that will have you downing that Saliva in seconds.â
Caroline: âHit me.â
James: âWell then, âName Any one CO-star with whom you have worked with in the past that you would never volunteer to work with again.ââ
Pause.
And the audience descended.
âLike I said, speaking about staying in your good books.â
Amidst the raucous screams, whistles and laughter, it didnât even bother Caroline, the clarity and speed with which the name
âKlaus Mikaelsonâ flashed in the front of her mind, like a large Neon LED sign from a typical Vegas Nightlife scene.
It took her a total of three seconds to know that she was going to answer with his name because, well just look at that drink in front of her,
Sure if you bend over real low and squint in the right light it may look like a harmless Daiquiri, but a Daiquiri it was not.
No. This was Bird Freaking Saliva,
Come on, you canât possibly ask her to put that in her goddamn mouth.
Like NO.
Just no.
So sue her for protecting her taste buds that are yet to experience many more exotic flavours and textures of food from all around the world.
But then again she canât possibly outright just say âOh thatâs easy, Klaus Mikaelson.â
Thatâs exactly the kinda PR trouble she wants to stay above and definitely didnât need to be wrung out dry by her Spitfire Mistress-of-Hell Publicist Katherine Pierce for.
(Who also alternates as her BFF, occasionally, mind you.)
So she puts on a good show, dropped her head in her hands, gave a healthy long groan, looked up and gave James her best wounded Puppy Dog eyes, to which he was clearly not immune to, judging by how he looked a touch chagrined, but the game was just as much as beyond his hands as it were hers,
She looked to the audience âYou guys are so mean, itâs not even funny.â
And grumbled a bit more till everyone was laughing and pitching forward and back on their seat amused by the poor Blondeâs Dilemma.
So she looked up to the heavens as if to ask for some unknown deity for deliverance and guidance, and poised herself to drink,
Only to put the glass back down in the last second in a begrudgingly weak show of caving in, and blurted out reluctantly,
(Sheâs a glorious actor, sheâs aware.)
âYou know what, Nope. Heâs just gotta deal with it, okay?.â
Deep breath
Or was it the audience taking a deep breath and holding it in,
âItsKlausMikaelson,PleaseDontKillMe.â
Pause again.
And the auditorium transcended.
Well,
she handled that, pretty well, if she does say so herself you know.
Apparently Kat Disagrees.
Apparently She Blew It.
She blew it so hard she couldâve knocked down the third little pigâs brick house.
Ironic since she always envisioned Klaus as the Big Bad Wolf who huffs and puffs and just generally blows.
Apparently her little admission was a PR disaster.
And Kat was furious.
The two minute edited clip that encompassed the question, the reluctant grumbling and finally the confession was apparently now a viral video on all social networking platforms.
They were trending on twitter under the hashtag
#KlarolineUnrequitedLoveIsABitch.
But her admission to being generally averted on taking up Klaus as a colleague again was apparently only one half of the video,
The other half....
Well the other other half was Klaus with his personal confession.
God, it wasnât even a confession,
it was aâa Mockery, yes thatâs it, a Mockery,
Of Her, no less
Basically Hereâs the run down of the second insidious half of the video,
Klaus sitting in front of Graham Norton, in all their British glory, going live on The Graham Norton Show,
when asked about Caroline Forbes, his âpartnerâ on scene has the audacity to let out this evil little amused huff and say:
âCaroline?â Another amused huff. âWell Caroline, Christ, where do I start? Sheâs an absolutely glorious presence on set. Her energy....itâs infectious, She hits you like a blonde hurricane of sunshine and snark and youâre just left staring up at the sun thinking, âyou need to catch up mate, if you want to be half as bright and burning as her.ââ
And Caroline thinks maybe this is the feeling of your brain imploding within the confines of the skull.

True Romance: Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet on reuniting for Little Women
They may be posing in an airy lower Manhattan studio, but TimothĂ©e Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan have a way of making you feel right at home. âI made a little playlist this morning,â Chalamet announces to the room. He syncs up his cell phone to the sound system, his boyish grin widening as Marvin Gayeâs âWhatâs Going Onâ starts blaring. He returns to the camera, which snaps him and Ronan at a furious pace.
Itâs their first joint cover shoot. Heâs wearing a shimmery striped shirt with high-waist trousers; sheâs rocking a shirtdress, fishnet stockings, and clear stilettos. He keeps cracking her up; she musses his hair with doting affection. During a break that follows, he wanders, gripping a paper bag stuffed with assorted bagels â from Tompkins Square Bagels, which Chalamet, a lifelong New Yorker, insists are the best in the city â and offering one to anyone in his path. He sings and dances â very Elio-in-the-town-square-like â to Bob Dylanâs âTombstone Blues.â He creeps behind a distracted Ronan before spooking her with a yelp. âI didnât even know you were there!â she exclaims, reddening from the fright but with a smile so lovingly at ease, you sense sheâs used to the prank.
Theyâve known each other, after all, for some time. About three years ago, Ronan, now 25, and Chalamet, 23, met filming Lady Bird, Greta Gerwigâs solo directorial debut, in which Ronanâs irrepressible heroine (briefly) romances Chalametâs douchey amateur musician. They reunited with Gerwig last year, on the heels of Lady Birdâs Oscar-nominated success, for a bigger undertaking: a remake of the oft-remade Little Women (Dec. 25). Ronan and Chalamet slipped into the roles of tomboyish Jo March and buoyant Theodore âLaurieâ Laurence, best friends who ultimately break each otherâs hearts. Their courtship ranks among American cultureâs oldest tales of unrequited love â made indelible by Katharine Hepburn and Douglass Montgomery, Winona Ryder and Christian Bale, and so many others â yet finds, in the hands of two of the most compelling actors of their generation, galvanizing new life.
That goes, in fact, for the whole of Gerwigâs Little Women. Her version certainly contains the snow-globe coziness of treasured adaptations past, but also carries a fizzy emotional authenticity and attention to detail. The film is remarkably lived-in, too: This take on Louisa May Alcottâs 1868 novel, which follows Jo and her three sisters preâ and postâAmerican Civil War, feels plucked straight from the text in the best way, with siblings fighting like siblings, love and loss and hope and pain vividly experienced on screen.
Ronan and Chalametâs charming big sisterâlittle brother dynamic is not unlike the one that Jo and Laurie share in Little Women. Watch the actors play off one another, and the filmâs tender realism clarifies itself: Their on-camera intimacy is just as palpable behind the scenes. Indeed, after shooting Lady Bird for a few weeks, the pair hung out regularly over the next year, making the awards-circuit rounds and scoring lead-acting Oscar nominations â Ronan for Lady Bird, Chalamet for Call Me by Your Name â before swiftly signing on to Little Women. In advance of filming in Concord, Mass. (the actual setting of the book), Gerwig and producer Amy Pascal gathered the large productionâs cast and crew for rehearsals at a house just outside the town. For Ronan and Chalamet, the contrast between this and their early Lady Bird days was immense. âI felt very prideful⊠about how big it had gotten, how many people were there,â Chalamet recounts. âOn Lady Bird it was, like, 25 people hanging out in a house!â
They fell back into each otherâs rhythms instantly. âHe keeps me on my toes â Iâm never quite sure what heâs going to do next,â Ronan says. âThat only progressed more and grew more. It helped that we do have a very natural rapport with each otherâŠ. These two characters physically need to be very comfortable with one another. Theyâre literally intertwined for half the film.â Chalamet adds: âIn the least clichĂ©d way possible, it really doesnât feel like [Iâm] acting sometimes [with her].â
Chalamet credits Gerwig, too, for establishing a playful, comfortable atmosphere. He thinks back to his first day of rehearsal: He reunited with Ronan. He introduced himself to Emma Watson (who plays the eldest March sister, Meg). He was guided into a third-floor conference room of a ârandom buildingâ where, âall of a sudden, there was a full dance class going on.â He recalls fondly: âEveryone breaks down and becomes a little kid. This job is so trippy in that regard â you want to be serious, you want to be professional, and then itâs almost best when youâre able to be 12 years old. When itâs someone youâre actually friends with, it makes it easier.â
Ronan smirks, gearing up for a jab: âWeâre not friends!â Delighted, Chalamet keeps the bit going. âWeâre not friends,â he says, solemnly. For once, theyâre not very convincing.
Greta Gerwig doesnât remember a time before she knew Jo March. â[Little Women] was very much part of who I always was,â the writer-director, 36, says. âIt was something my mother read to me when I was growing up. Itâs been with me for a very long time.â
She joined Sony Picturesâ new Little Women adaptation when she was hired to write the script in 2016. Once Lady Bird bowed the next year, she emerged as a candidate to direct the film. âGreta had a very specific, energized, kind of punk-rock, Shakespearean take on this story,â Pascal says. âShe came in and had a meeting with all of us and said, âI know this has been done before, but nobody can do it but me.ââ She got the gig.
In her approach, Gerwig drew on her lifelong relationship with Little Women; beyond childhood, she discovered new, complex layers to the novel, and in turn to Alcottâs legacy. âAs a girl, my heroine was Jo March, and as a grown lady, my heroine is Louisa May Alcott,â she says. Itâs perhaps why Gerwigâs Little Women feels like the most adult â and modern â version of the story thatâs reached the screen to date. The movie begins with the March sisters in adulthood â typically where the narrativeâs second half begins â and unfolds like a memory play, shifting back and forth between that present-day frame and extended flashbacks to the childhood scenes etched in the American literary canon.
In that, Gerwig finds fascinating, fresh areas of exploration regarding womenâs lives: the choices society forces them to make, the beauty and struggles of artistic pursuit, the consequences of rebellion. Joâs journey as a writer anchors Gerwigâs direction; tempestuous Amy (Florence Pugh) gets more of a spotlight as she matures as a painter (and Laurieâs eventual wife); and Meg is realized with newfound nuance: âWe felt it was important to show Meg juggling all her roles â a mother, a wife, a sister â whilst also celebrating her dreams, despite them being different to those of her sisters,â says Watson. But Gerwig doesnât see herself as reinventing the wheel. âA lot of the lines in the film are taken right from the book,â she explains. âWhen Amy says, âI want to be great or nothingâ â she says that in the book! I donât think we remember that, but she does say it.â Gerwig also loves one line spoken by the sistersâ mother, Marmee (Laura Dern), also revived in this version: âIâm angry almost every single day.â
Gerwig compiled a âbibleâ filled with cultural references: to Whistler tableaux of family life, to David BowieâJean Seberg hairdos that inspire the look of Joâs mid-film cut, to Alcott family letters. âI wanted it to be footnote-able,â Gerwig says. âI wanted to point to it and say, âThis is where this is from.ââ She considers Alcottâs text sacred: âI wanted to treat the text as something that could be made fresh by great acting.â
Beyond those charged but less quoted Little Women lines are its famous ones â throw-pillow staples like Joâs âChristmas wonât be Christmas without any presents,â that no adaptation is complete without. The actors rehearsed these âalmost like a song,â pushing to move through them with a rapid musicality. âWe [read] the book out loud,â says Dern. Gerwig expected the scriptâs words to be memorized precisely. âI knew I wanted them to get this cadence that felt sparkly and slightly irreverent,â she says. âI wanted to make them move at the speed of light.â
She poured the same love into iconic scenes, like Jo and Laurieâs ebullient dance that follows their first meeting. Here it goes on longer â and more vibrantly â than in any previous iteration. (Ronan says they filmed it at 3 a.m., to boot, adding, âWe must have done it, like, 30 times.â) Then thereâs the devastating moment when Laurie asks Jo to marry him and she rejects his proposal. Gerwig tasked the two actors to unleash here. âEmotions just bubble over,â Ronan says. â[Greta] just let us go with it, wherever it went, from take to take. What I loved about that scene is that every take would be different emotionally. It didnât have the same trajectory.
âThe two of us, itâs a relationship I have with no other director,â Ronan continues. âShe makes me feel like I can try anything.â
As Ronan and Chalamet emerge from their photo-studio dressing area in impossibly chic new ensembles â she donning a form-fitting knit sweater, he a silky, ruffled top â their creative energy fills the space. They try out different poses, debating concepts and ideas with each other on the fly; at one point he wraps his arms around her waist, and she quips to no one in particular, âWeâre expecting our first.â Camera snap.
Theyâre modeling a new brand of movie stardom â pursuing projects with a point of view, adamantly being themselves in the public eye, subverting gender norms. Their androgynous fashion performance here reflects their wardrobe shake-ups in Little Women: Gerwig and Oscar-winning costumer Jacqueline Durran (Anna Karenina) had the two actors swapping clothes throughout filming, to reinforce the masculine-feminine fluidity between Jo and Laurie. âThey are two halves,â as Pascal puts it. âThese are really bold characters that are really different than youâve seen them before.â
And just as Gerwig expressed a need to direct Little Women, Ronan knew in her bones she needed to play Jo. Sheâd first encountered the story via the 1994 film when she was 11, and later read the book, feeling an immediate kinship with the young woman sheâd come to portray. âWhen Louisa describes Jo, it felt like someone describing me physically: sort of gangly and stubborn and very straightforward, and went for what she wanted.â At an event for Lady Bird, she â in a very Jo kind of way â just âwent at itâ by approaching Gerwig. âI said, âSo I want to be in Little Women, but only if Iâm playing Jo.ââ (Chalamet, for his part, was asked by Gerwig, âHey, want to do another movie?â He responded: âYes. Yes, please.â)
Over months of living in Concord with her castmates, Ronan discovered new depths within herself: âJoâs ethos is âEverything everyone else is doing, Iâm going to do the opposite.â [I had] to try things that Iâd never tried before. Be a bit messier with a performance.â Gerwig set up etiquette lessons for the cast; whatever the instructor said (âDonât shake hands! Donât gesticulate with your arms!â), Ronan made sure to ignore it. She speaks now of this as freeing, even transformative. âI felt like I had tapped into something Iâd never gotten the opportunity to tap into before, or I just didnât have the guts to tap into myself,â she says. âFinding that was just amazing.â
Shortly after wrapping Little Women, she filmed Wes Andersonâs next film, The French Dispatch â marking her third time costarring with Chalamet, who plays a central role. As for now? Ronan is taking a little break. âIâll wait for the right thing to come along,â she says. âItâs lovely to be in a position at this moment where I can wait for the absolute right thing.â Same goes for Chalamet â he shot Netflixâs The King (out Oct. 11) right before Little Women and just completed production on Denis Villeneuveâs Dune adaptation. âItâs the first time in almost two years Iâve gotten a breath, so Iâm savoring it.â
Itâs been a long day. Theyâre back in comfy clothes; Ronan is taking a late lunch. It feels like both actors â as another whirlwind of acclaim and press and romance-shipping awaits â are at a kind of peace, exhausted but satisfyingly so. Little Women is the biggest movie either has done to date; more attention, as they inhabit such revered characters, is sure to follow. âI just havenât thought about it that way,â Ronan admits. âMaybe because itâs just Greta â even though itâs on a much bigger scale, she wanted it to feel like Lady Bird.â
Ronan understands the timeless power of Little Women, of course: âItâs as important to tell Little Women right now as it would be at any point in our lifetime.â She points to this pop culture climate of âcelebrating female friendships and sisterhood,â and continues, âItâs a story thatâs full of love. That will always be relevant.â
She turns toward Chalamet, and you realize the love they brought to Alcottâs classic is what first blossomed between them on Lady Bird. âI love that in Lady Bird, you broke my heart,â she says to him softly. âIn Little Women, I got to break your heart.â (Chalamet, ever the goofball, finds an obvious opening: âYes, thatâs true. Then I married your sister. Ha, ha, ha!â)
If this all sounds a little idyllic, well, neither actor â nor Gerwig, nor Pascal, nor the rest of the cast â can do much to convince you otherwise. Shifting back to Little Womenâs timelessness, and reflecting on Ronanâs comments about it, Chalamet says, âI donât know how to add to that.â Instead he turns back to his costar, his expression suddenly sincere, filled with gratitude. âBut if I can add one little dose of information,â he says with a nervous laugh. âAnd not just because sheâs sitting next to me.â He credits Ronan with bringing that âtimeless energy.â He says âthank Godâ they were able to make the movie. âItâs so rare with Saoirse â Iâm so fâing grateful to get to work with her,â he says. âWhatever book I write for myself when Iâm older, to look back on ââ He stops himself. âWell, this is a bigger conversation.â
But Ronan, chuckling, doesnât let him off the hook. âWill I have, like, a chapter?â And Chalamet laughs â another opening, another chance to act with his greatest scene partner, to see what journey of creation and discovery theyâll go on next. âA chapter of Saoirse,â he says.
At this rate, one chapter wonât suffice.

Back in the days of LJ, I used to try and do a post at the end of each year, looking back primarily at fandom and fic. I fell out of the habit when everything moved to tumblr, and then it seemed like I didnât have anything to say since I wasnât writing or really participating any.Â
But I always liked the idea of it, because I love to be overly reflective on stuff. And talk about my fic. Any excuse! I shuffled around some of the topics I used back then and added a few Iâve seen around that I liked. It got⊠long, because I TALK, so I split into two sections.Â
*
Your main fandom of the year?Â
Marvel (MCU) for sure. Primarily with characters from Spider-Man and Iron Man movies.
Your favorite film watched this year?
The Old Guard - I saw a couple trailers and everything about it looked like catnip. âItâs probably going to be so dumb, but I donât even care,â I thought. And then it was so good. It was so much fun and so much smarter than I expected and I loved each and every character and it just made me happy in so many ways.
Your favorite book read this year?
Red, White, and Royal Blue, Casey McQuiston - I read it twice this year actually. Itâs so⊠cute isnât the right world. Sweet and hopeful and soft and comforting and intense. I liked every single character which is pretty rare. I cried during the sad parts and then again at the happy ending, like straight up sobbed - both times. I already want to read it again.
Your favorite tv show watched this year?
Schittâs Creek - I started it on a whim and because a lot of people had said it was good. The episodes were short so it wasnât a huge time investment. The first season was a little rough, but there were enough funny moments that I hung on, and then⊠I kept getting fonder and fonder of these idiots as they grew. And THEN⊠it kept not disappointing me?Â
You grow to expect certain scripts, twists, jokes, especially in queer story lines. To wait for the bad thing to happen, because it always does. Instead, Schittâs Creek kept going, âhey, hereâs the set up for that! Guess what? Weâre not doing it. Hereâs the happy version instead.â The relief of having that happen again and again - the last season Iâve watched (Iâm sort of saving 6) I cried a bunch but it was always because I was happy.Â
Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?
1896 - Iâve been waiting for the new Steam Powered Giraffe album so eagerly for aaaaaages. Finally getting recordings of Zeroâs songs! Lying Awake remains my favorite off the album, with Eat Your Heart and Bad Days on the Horizon high up there as well. Iâm loving what Zero brings to the band.
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
I donât know if I really did discover that much? I stuck pretty closely to old fandoms and the ones I picked up in 2019. Maybe Zodiac? It was definitely inspiring, and I want to write and read more in it.Â
Maybe the couple discords I joined? I still really dislike discord and am not on there much, and mostly lurk when I am, but having somewhere vaguely like the comms I remember makes me feel a little less isolated. Itâs the potential, that maybe if I said something I might make a friend, or someone might actually want to hear what I say.Â
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
The Watch - I mean, I knew it was going to be a disaster with every word said during pre production. I wasnât ever going to be happy with it. And then it came out and was even worse and uglier and ⊠disrespectful not just of the source material but of actual people connected to Terry. Iâm beyond disappointed that this is what we got, and itâs probably going to be a long time before we get anything else.Â
Devil All the Time was terrible, but I didnât have especially high hopes. It still didnât manage to meet them. Yikes.
The most missed of your old fandoms?
Maybe MASH? Someone I follow started talking about it and I was reminded all over again of the wonderful fics in that fandom. I went looking and a lot are gone (still on my computer, lol, but not online), but rereading was such a trip. A slightly depressing trip, but still.Â
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
Hmm. Iâve kind of not had the energy to invest in other fandoms at the moment? When The Witcher was having itâs big moment back in January, I had a feeling I might enjoy it enough to fall headfirst into the fandom, so I avoided watching it. Ikr? I donât have the time or the energy to actively seek anything out.Â
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
SO EXCITED about Winterâs Orbit. I mean, the third Spider-Man movie for sure, with worry. The second Venom movie, ugh yes. I have tentative hopes for Jungle Cruise? Jumanji was stellar and I always enjoy Dwayne. I have both hope and dread for the new Suicide Squad - I did love Birds of Prey, so if itâs along those lines, yay. The Hitmanâs Wifeâs Bodyguard because it should be some fun garbage, my favorite kind. I donât know how I feel about Dune, but, uh, Iâm anticipating it. It seems highly unlikely it will actually happen, but The Wheel of Time TV series.Â
I want to be excited about Black Widow but itâs hard. Itâs not the story Iâve been wanting to see, and Iâm angry about Natasha not getting a movie until sheâs dead.
You know. If any of it is released for real.
The Good:Â
I moved to a better place. I got a better paying, better benefits, better environment job that lets me work from home. The house acquired 3-7 more cats depending on the month. I was able to get some serious problems on my car fixed. I have insurance and was able to start on some health stuff. No one I know got sick or died. I wrote a LOT.
The Bad:Â
Aside from the obvious? Depression hitting extra hard during the winter. Having to put two kittens to sleep. Have my car be hit three times in our parking lot. Being driven INSANE by one of the cats for months while the vets were all closed. Kidney stone. Dealing with several health problems. Stalling for months on Gotcha.
The Indifferent:Â
Not leaving the house often or easily. Enjoying a new fandom but not doing great at making connections (still real awkward, bud). Raising kittens and saying goodbye. Need new tires. Reading a lot of fic but not a lot of books. Having more pay but more expenses as well (wth insurance??).Â

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
SO MUCH MORE OMG. I mean, even just counting posted stuff! (I probably wrote a solid 300k of Gotcha this year.) I did not expect or plan on doing Kinktober, so thatâs a whole 31 fics right there. I also wasnât planning on doing any exchanges - I have a History - but then I did three? And beyond that, I did not expect for everything to get so LONG.
Topic you wrote that you would never have predicted in January:
Tony/Quentin. Goddammit @the-me09 They were like hey, they could be interesting! And while I agreed, I had no ideas for them. THEN they had to go and write Just Bodies That Collide and next thing I know, Iâve got ten fics featuring them and two-six series focused on them or Peter/Quentin/Tony. What the fuck.Â
Leitmotif of the year:
Vulnerability, I think. I had a bunch of things typed up and they all circle back to vulnerability in the end; sex, being seen, being wanted, sharing trauma, asking for help, trying something new. Offering a soft spot in the hopes it wonât be hurt.Â
Favorite character to write about:Â
Tony Stark, for sure. There are just a bunch of slightly different takes, and a lot of canon to work with (kind of frustrating too though). And Iâm a sucker for emotionally damaged snarky traumatized characters that are viewed poorly both in universe and out.Â
Favorite kind of fic to write:
This year? Fluff and smut combined. Maybe thatâs not the right term really. I keep looking for and writing, even in the angstiest fics, for those soft moments. Sure, maybe itâs a super smutty kink scene, but I want the affection to be obvious. Maybe everyone is consumed by guilt, but I want it to be based in caring too much. Maybe thereâs no real love, just sex and even thatâs messed up, but I want to find that tiny bit of fondness.Â
And I want happy endings. Or endings that look like theyâre going to be happy, at least, even if thereâs all the angst first. I donât think Iâve killed anyone this year? Who AM I?Â
Biggest disappointment:
Not finishing the rough draft of Gotcha. I was making such good progress in 2019, from August to December. Even after the move, I basically finished part 6 in January. I fumbled around and fussed with 1 a lot, but that had already been given one draft, really, and I got through half of 4 before I slowed to a stop. Iâve barely gotten anything accomplished on it since June. Bits and pieces here and there, but nothing significant, not like I was doing. I can excuse October, due to 80k invested in Kinktober (yikes!), but aside from that⊠Iâm sad. Iâll finish it eventually, but I really thought I could have the first draft done in a year. Iâm sitting at about 480k out of what Iâm almost certain will be 700k.Â
Biggest surprise:
Kinktober! It was kind of spur of the moment, decided just a week in advance. Iâve tried month long or even like, 20-25 day long challenges and I donât think Iâve ever completed one. I thought there was a good chance Iâd do so again, so I gave myself a little help and made my own list of prompts, things I knew I liked and hadnât done much of yet. And it worked? I actually completed it, what the hell? Despite spending five days travelling near the end! Despite falling behind in getting ahead and writing a bunch of stories the day they were to be posted! Despite apparently forgetting how to do short form!Â
I, uh, could have done without the spawning of eleven series or sequels or continuations jfc WHY SELF.
Something you learned this year:
Ideas breed ideas. I swear to god, the second I sit down to think through a current idea, I wake up the next morning with three more.Â
Words need to be restocked. I need to consume new - not rereads, not fic - content every so often to refresh my word bank. It is astonishing how quickly writing goes again after Iâve done so.
I can write so much more than I thought I could. I can do so much more than I thought I could. Yes, I can complete challenges without dropping out early. Yes, I can do exchanges and not regret it. Yes, I can write more than 100k, more than 200k, more and more - and I can write 10k+ easily too. Though I wouldnât mind if I could once again write less than 10k without feeling like Iâve cut off in the middle.Â
My time is shrinking, and if I want to write as much, Iâm going to have to make the time. I canât rely on three days off a week, on seven hours of uninterrupted overnight shifts, on hyper focused writing binges that leave everything else around me on fire.Â
Most memorable comment:Â
So, so many! I canât pick one. Iâve been really lucky to get a bunch of really detailed, enthusiastic, analyzing comments across all different fics. One of the types that always sticks with me are the ones like âI didnât think/know I liked this ship/kink/twist, but fuck, apparently I do? You made me, what the hell?â.Â
What, if anything, are you going to try to do differently in your writing in the new year?
So with writing Gotcha but not posting until itâs done, my view of what Iâve written vs anyone elseâs is extremely skewed. Iâm sitting here thinking, hey Iâm 400k in and got another 10k done today, so much writing! While anyone looking at my AO3 account (for most of the year) is like, youâre averaging three months between fics :(
All that to say I want to try and get something posted more frequently while Iâm working on Gotcha.
Also, writing for kinktober was really interesting - pushing myself to write every single day, often for that dayâs post, forced me to get back into shorter form fic. Which used to be all I did? But it was surprisingly hard to just stop and not write more. So Iâd like to challenge myself to write more fics under 10k at least. Maybe even under 5k though that might be asking a lot lol. I might get there with the many continuations of those fics Iâd like to do. Does that count?
Goals:
I want to hit 365 fics. :) Iâm only 32 away!
   Aside from writing -Â
Iâve really enjoyed the reading record sideblog I started this year. Iâve let it lapse a little the past month or so, but Iâd like to keep it going strong.Â
Iâd like to leave a lot more comments. I want to get better about allowing imperfection - I want to write The Best Comment, but in the end? Probably 90% of fic writers are going to be happier with a comment expressing enjoyment in any way over no comment at all.Â
And not just on fics, but on general posts as well. Itâs hard not to feel⊠weird and stupid and invasive and rude leaving any sort of comment on someoneâs post if I donât know them at least a little. I have godawful rejection sensitive dysphoria and a lot of interactions that ended poorly; Iâm really not good at people. But as dumb as it feels to say those things, I know I am thrilled and warmed and happier when thereâs a reblog with tags or a note or a comment or an ask or just, any small interaction that shows someone out there notices and cares, at least a little. Thereâs no reason I canât at least try to offer that to other people.Â
Iâd like to make/run a couple challenges of my own, later in the year. Iâm still figuring out what I want to do and what I could do. Iâm really interested in doing something thatâs not focused on creators, but the readers; some sort of comment or rec challenge maybe.
I want to find a cheerleader for Gotcha. Iâm struggling to keep up my motivation to write it when itâs already in my head, where I can âreadâ it any time. Thereâs a line between depending too much on external validation and trying to generate all your validation yourself, and Iâm getting to a point where I think I need to ask for help (gasp! The hardest thing EVER).Â

Super fun list/idea I look forward to. I love end-of-year lists and even end of decade lists and checking to see what I missed or completely forgot about.
Some stuff I didnât like, am lukewarm about. But most is right on and worth checking out.
Glad they added: the Bodega Boys soundboard (Desus and Mero). Some segments on Desus and Mero this year were the funniest things I watched...Ryen Russilloâs âWorst Year everâ segment. Forgot about that one. Relatable.
Things Iâd add to the list... Limited series that are really good (in order): When They See Us (particularly Jharrell Jeromeâ); Unbelievable; Chernobyl; the Loudest Voice; Mrs Fletcher
Late add:Â âDonât Fuck with Cats: the Hunt for the Internet Cat Killerâ Still need to check out:Â âFosse/Verdonâ;Â âLooking for Alaskaâ;Â âGood Omensâ
Late Night: âDesus and Meroâ-kind of mentioned with the Bodega Boys soundboard. Some segments were the hardest Iâve laughed this year. Maybe the ad for the South Carolina sheriff was the best moment? And the hilarious game show moment with Jimmy Fallon/Charlize Theron and the Taylor Swift âlong backâ moment that got them death threats from Swift fans.
Without fail, I introduce anybody to Desus and Mero or even just Meroâs laugh-and they will enjoy it. They are so naturally funny/likable and got great chemistry/riffing.
TV Series: âSex Educationâ. Some âDerry Girlsâ. Moments: Sydney Sweeneyâs boobies on âEuphoriaâ. That show is pretty ridiculous/dumb at times and basically feels like a hysterically paranoid made-up nightmare of what high school is like. But it has good female performances you canât look away from. The dudes? not so much. Documentaries (no order): âthe Ted Bundy Tapesâ, âFinding Neverlandâ (Michael Jackson sexual abuse of kids); âI Love You Now Dieâ (local in Massachusetts with inducing someone to commit suicide case), âââthe Inventorâ (Theranos) âAmerican Factoryâ; âKnocking Down the Houseâ (AOC)
Enjoyed a lot of these to varying degrees. Heard the Maradona doc was good.
Comedy Specials:Â -Bill Burr-âPaper Tigerâ-favorite stand-up comic. Particularly his bit 54 minutes in. I still think heâs left out his best bits 3 specials in a row now (the anti respecting the troops makes sense as to why he left it out/didnât land in London and why) -Gary Gulman-âthe Great Depreshâ-doc didnât totally work for me, but thereâs some great moments from a comic Iâve always liked/didnât know what he was going through. -Dave Chappelle -got a lot of flack, but it was still funny. -Mike Birbiglia-âthe New Oneâ-comic from my town (Shrewsbury MA). He does ready-made Broadway/Off-Broadway one-man acts (not so much comedy specials). Heâs not a favorite comic in that I donât think heâs as naturally or consistently funny as a lot of the guys I like on podcasts; thatâs not his forte. But if he has an act, heâll deliver and usually get better with it. -Anthony Jeselnik-âFire in the Maternity Wardâ Comedy album -Joe DeRosa-âI Go To Atlanta All the Timeâ -may not pop into my head as a favorite comic, but he reliably releases some of my favorite comedy albums.
Podcasts -âthe Dollopâ: âRonald Reagan part 1 & 2âČ with Patton Oswalt. Lot of episodes are hit-or-miss, but when itâs on? Itâs damn good/funny/unbelievable. I wish they had a comedy production studios for Dollop movies/TV/shorts.
I listen to an ungodly amount of podcasts, but I canât think of standout moments/episodes beyond the above one. I think Frotcast will release a Best of the year oepisode soon and it might deliver.
Internet moments -the short/angry Bagel Boss guy losing his shit (and other videos of the guy being a douche) -Megan McCain being dunked on. Probably âYou were at my wedding deniseâ was the highlight but it was never-ending from an all-time dumb person/faildaughter of a shitty politician. You could probably also add other shitty Republicans/conservative thinkers. Getting shit on online and losing the culture wars forever and always is the least/best we can do in these shit times. They will never have that and it irks them no matter how much they say it doesnât. Thatâs history and being on the wrong side. SNL -Adam Sandlerâs SNL comeback/tribute to Chris Farley. He did it on his really good Netflix comedy special but was more touching here and a genuine moment.
SNL mostly sucks and I hate-watch it. Has a collection of funny people but they fail to do anything with it.
Need to check out: Uncut Gems; Little Women; Star Wars; end of âLegionâ (4 episodes behind/wasn't enjoying the last season and a half. The final âMr Robotâ. episode on Sunday. 1 episode into âthe Witcherâ and so far itâs pretty stupid and Henry Cavillâs voice is unintentionally funny. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MY PERSONAL FAVES.... Can you do the otp ask game for you and chris?? (I ship hella hard okay, youâre both cute and I want something like what you got someday) all of them? Or just the ones youâre comfortable with? Thanks!!~đŸ
I can try my alien friend. I canât promise theyâll be accurate and I can almost guarantee that some are wrong cause I just donât know how he might respond but I think itâll be funny (and he can correct me later if Iâm wrong like whatever)Â
Since thereâs a lot, Iâm going to put it under a read more so that people arenât scrolling forever.
1. Acts like theyâre dying when they have a cold.Â
This is me. 100%, I am always convinced Iâm dying when Iâm sick, just the most dramatic person ever when ill. Meanwhile he gets sick and his response to any of it is âItâs okay.â like.. just chill what the heck.
2. Gets mad at the TV and throws the remote.Â
This one Iâm not sure of? I know heâs not big into sports, and I only ever watch baseball and the Superbowl for the commercials. I donât get angry though, not really, so I think I have to say that Chris would do this. And if he ever did Iâd die of laughter.Â
3. Gets the worst road rage.
Me. I have road rage as it, not like speeding and cussing people out, but I do yell at them when they donât use signals and arenât going the speed limit. My roommate laugh at me for it.Â
4. Spends too much time in the bathroom on their phone.Â
Ummm..? No idea. I donât tend to use my phone in the bathroom except to play music while showering or if I get ready in the bathroom. So I kind of want to say him just based on that and I can imagine him taking forever while taking mirror selfies tbh
5. Packs the whole closet for an overnight trip.Â
Me Iâm sure. I over pack, because you never know if something will change or if youâll need something cause the weather wasnât what you thought it would be. I have a problem.Â
6. Hates the in-laws.Â
I think if either of our parents were ever referred to as in-laws, heâd be the one to hate them. My parents, especially my step mom and my step dad, since they can be very close minded and just jerks in general.Â
7. Hits the snooze buttonâŠ11 times.Â
Me probably. I hate morning and will hit snooze for as long as I can ((Iâm not sorry either))
8. Makes the other late for work.Â
Again, probably also me since I snooze the alarm. ((I would be sorry for that one))Â
9. Uses the television as a babysitter.Â
Is2g if thatâs ever a thing I will riot. Like, kids arenât anything Iâve planned at this point in life and idk if he has ((that is not a conversation for right now anyways)) but my siblings plan on having kids and I have a lot of young cousins I babysit from time to time and THE TV IS NOT A BABYSITTER!! Donât just stick kids in front of the tv, they need stimulation. Maybe for a 30 min show while you make dinner, but other than that no.
10. Takes in the stray dog.Â
This is 100% me. He sent me a photo set one day that mentioned a dog up for adoption and I was ready to go to wherever that dog was and take them home. I have no chill.Â
11. Suggests a 3am trip to McDonaldâs.Â
That would have to be him. I will suggest 3am trips, but never to McDonaldâs
12. Leaves their shoes out for the other to trip over.Â
Probably me, sometimes I forget to put my shoes up.Â
13. Canât make up their mind when it comes to dinner.Â
Iâm an indecisive person, so this is also me. Like, if you give me suggestions I can choose but I cannot just pick from nothing.Â
14. Needs to be reminded of all their appointments.Â
Iâm not sure. I write all my things down in a planner, but Chris sets reminders for himself when he has appointments (from what I understand) so.. maybe both of us to an extent?
15. Bribes the other into doing chores, getting out of the houseâŠand taking a shower.Â
This might also be both of us. I know that I can forget to do things when Iâm really focused on something and I wonât want to stop, I can also avoid going anywhere like the plague. I think he can be the same way, and I know he would prefer to stay in if that was an option. So yea, we both bribe each other.Â
16. Picks the movies.Â
He has to pick. I cannot ever choose one movie, I can choose like 3 and then from there someone else has to make the choice. So he picks.Â
17. Takes the safety steps when building a pillow fort.Â
Probably me. Iâm always worried about something going wrong and Iâm really careful with things, to the point of annoyance sometimes.Â
18. Kisses the otherâs injuries better.Â
Again, probably me. Itâs the way that works. Everything is fixed when a little kiss is given.
19. Is addicted to angry birds, game of war, candy crush, temple run, or flappy bird.Â
I want to say Chris. I donât play many games and I donât keep them on my phone. Theyâre on my tablet so itâs definitely a leisure thing. but I donât play often enough for it to be a problem.Â
20. Kills the spiders.Â
Chris has to kill the spiders! Or take them outside. I canât. I wonât go into a room when thereâs a spider in it, itâs not happening. Thatâs all him.Â
21. Hogs the blankets.Â
Oh me, Iâm always cold and I like to wrap up like a burrito at night of whenever really.Â
22. Takes pranks too far.Â
Probably also me. Not in a harmful way, but in a âthis is really annoying and you need to stop wayâ
23. Makes the dirty jokes.Â
Probably Chris. Iâm not very good when it comes to dirty jokes, and I have no idea if he even makes them, but I think Iâd have to say him.Â
24. Keeps a piggy bank.Â
I do! I actually have one at home and I have a jar that I keep money in here at school.Â
25. Has no problem having ice cream for breakfast.Â
Chris. I have a lot of problems with it, the main one being Iâm lactose intolerant so I really shouldnât have dairy products. Hasnât stopped me but I shouldnâtÂ
26. Gets a tattoo when theyâre drunk.Â
Me. I want to get one, and if my inhibitions were lowered enough nothing would stop me Iâd just do it with no planning.Â
27. Trips over their own feet.Â
Also me. I am a klutz.
28. Makes the other go for a walk.Â
Chris. He likes being outside more than I do, and Iâve things where heâs mentioned hikes and what not so I think itâs something heâd enjoy.Â
29. Whines until they get what they want.Â
I donât know? I donât really whine about things and Iâm not sure about him. Iâll annoy you to no end to get something but I wonât whine.Â
30. Tries to act tough but really isnât.Â
This is me. I am not tough or scary, as many people have pointed out to me. I try though!Â
31. Talks the most, says the least.Â
Probably me if Iâm honest. I type a lot of words but thereâs not much to say.Â
32. Talks the least, says the most.
I think thatâs Chris. Thereâs not many long messages from him, but he gets his point across in few words and when it is like that the messages really go deeper.Â

Laser Tag
Timothee x Reader
Word Count: 1,788
Timothee and Reader are great friends, secretly in love with each other, that play a game of Laser Tag.
Just a little something you all. Hope you enjoy, feedback is always appreciated!
âTruth,â I managed to mumble while my face in buried in the mattress.
âCâmon, donât be so boring and pick dare for once,â Timmy rolled his eyes. Here we are in Timmyâs bedroom on a Thursday night with absolutely nothing to do. Kid Cudi plays softly in the background as we play a round of truth or dare, but Iâm bored out of my mind and I know Timmyâs dying of boredom, as well.
I lifted my head up off the bed. âTim, this game is boring,â I stated.
âIt wouldnât be so if you do a dare,â he protested.
âYour dares are unoriginal and ridiculously dumb. The last time we played, you dared Harry to lick a toilet seat,â I reminisce to years ago when Tim and I were at a party during our Junior year in High School. It was our first getting drunk so we played all kinds of games, truth or dare is a must at parties, obviously. I stood up from the bed and walked over to his bookshelf. âRead a book,â Tim nagged.
âIâve read all of these already. TimothĂ©e, itâs your last night here before you fly to LA tomorrow morning. Letâs go out!â I joined him on the bedroom floor, gently pulling on his arm. He lets his head fall back on his head. Timmy and I had been the best of friends since our freshman year in high school. Weâve been through thick and thin together, worked on some plays and films but, Iâll admit, heâs got talent and got the recognition he deserves. Ever since TimothĂ©eâs acting career gained so much attention from the public, heâs been followed by paparazzi and every turn he takes, thereâs a flash or a camera in his face. Sometimes both. So, he tries to not go out so much. But, tonightâs the last night before he leaves and begins a movie production that will last months so I want to enjoy this night and make the most out of it.
Suddenly, an idea popped into my head and a smile formed on my face. âLaser tag!â, I exclaimed as I sat up. Timmy gave me a look with an eyebrow raised, as if he didnât understand what I was talking about. âLetâs go play laser tag, I know an arcade thatâs near and kind of hidden in between buildings,â I tried my best to convince him. âI kind of just want to hang out here with you, we can look for a movie to watch,â he suggested. It took puppy dog eyes and about a minute for him to agree. We grabbed our belongings and headed out door into his car. I typed in the address on my phone and began the navigation.
âTim, the sun is not out. Why are you wearing sunglasses?â, I asked.
âThe flashes blind me, Iâm just preparing,â he stated, keeping his eyes on the road. I rolled my eyes at him. âWow, Timmy, youâve changed ever since your Statistics video for Ms. Lawton went viral,â I teased. âWe donât speak of that!â, Timmy pretended to be insulted and ordered I donât mention that video ever again. I began singing the lyrics to his Statistics rap songs and imitated the moves he made in the video. âStop that!â, he released one hand from the steering wheel and reach over to put my arms and hands down. The way he was getting defensive made me laugh. TimothĂ©e looked at me, smiled and returned to the road before saying âYou laugh is so preciousâ. I didnât say anything, I didnât know what to say for I didnât know if he was serious or mocking me. I couldnât sense sarcasm in his tone, but Timmy has never said anything like that to me before. Looking down at my left hand, I realized I was holding his hand. I guess from when he was trying to bring my hands down, they somehow remained attached until he pulled away and grabbed the steering wheel.
After arriving to the arcade, we had to follow basic instructions from the arcade employees on how to properly play laser tag, how to properly wear the gear and to try to not knock something unconscious with the equipment. The employees have confirmed that itâs happened before, which is why they are warning us. The next moments were spent putting the vests on, Â making sure they worked and testing out the laser guns. Everything looked good, so it was time to begin the game. We were told we had to enter the maze from different entrances so itâd be harder to find each other. Â âGood luck, youâll need it,â Timmy gently punch my shoulder before heading over to his entrance. âIâm not worried, you suck at things like this,â I shrugged and charged up my laser.
The timer above us began the countdown from 5.
4...3...2..1...GO!
I didnât pay attention to Timmy, I was very focused on finding him and getting him out of the game before he finds me. I lied about Timmy being bad at things like this. Heâs actually really good at mazes. I remembered our Sophomore year, we took a trip to a pumpkin patch and they had a corn maze. I swore I could get us out in less than 10 minutes. It wasnât until I realized we were going in circles and Timmy grabbed a hold of my hand, interlacing our finger together and he lead us out of the maze.
âBEEP.â
I took a sharp turn and examined my right arm. Instead of a green light, it was red. Meaning Iâve been hit. I peeked around the corner and spotted Timmy running away, smirking. Dammit, I was distracted. âThat shouldnât count!â, I shouted loud enough for him to hear me,
âYou gotta be quicker than that, Princess!â Princess? Now heâs trying to get to me. I headed back towards his direction, as quiet as I can. I thought I could maybe do a sort of sneak attack while heâs trying to hide from me.
âBEEP.â I got him three times.
âBEEP.â He got me four times. All was left for him to get was my torso. I couldnât stay in one place and hide for more than a minute or my vest will begin to alarm, giving away my hiding spot. I kept cursing in my head. TimothĂ©e is really good and I really donât want to lose. âCan you at least LET me win?â I begged.
âYouâre so cute when youâre angry,â his comment caused my cheeks to heat up. âIâm not cute!â I heard his voice but I couldnât see him! I kept my laser gun prepared, aiming at anything, ready for him. I made sure to move around so my vest wouldnât go off. With one green light left, I was beginning to panic. I was telling myself that it was just a game but I really wanted to beat Timothee.
Suddenly, I am slammed against a wall. My left arm being pinned up above my head with my laser gun in hand. TimothĂ©eâs face was just centimeters away from mine. I looked directly into his eyes to ask him what does he think heâs doing. But, his beautiful, sparkling green eyes had darken. It took me by surprised and I couldnât say anything. Staring into his eyes made me feel like I was being hypnotized. As if I was in some sort of trance. The tip of our noses and noses barely brushing against each other. It wasnât long until he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine and I did not hesitate to kiss him back. Iâve honestly been wanting to do this for the longest time. I didnât want this moment to end.
We kissed for a few seconds until he pulled away, I wanted more. We just stared at each other so what seemed like a long time, until he raised his laser and held it against the green light on my torso. I didnât move. He pulled the trigger on his laser gun. âBEEP.â The game ended and he won. We did not say a word as he walked away and I remained against the wall.
I exited the maze and met up with as he was putting his equipment away. I followed behind and took the vest off and returned it to the employees. We made our way to the arcadeâs building, until I finally asked the question. âWhat was that? Why did you kiss me?â Timothee stopped in his track, his back is still facing me. âI mean, why did it take you so long?â, I rephrase my question and he turned around to face me. He shoved his hands into his pocket. âI wasnât sure how you felt about me but I wished I had done that sooner,â he explains but I still had many questions.
âHow soon?â, I inquired.
âI wish I had kissed you the day I met you,â he confessed. My mind was running a thousand miles per second. âIt was our first day of high school when you were struggling with your âjammedâ locker, but really you were just putting in the incorrect combination. Your look of embarrassment was the cutest thing ever. And in our theatre class, we werenât always paired up on accident. I asked the director to place us together. I think I fell in love with you the second our eyes made contact.â
âWhy didnât you say something?!â I blurted
âYouâre too beautiful! Youâre an angel and Iâve how guys, sometimes girls, look at you and I knew I would never have a chance. It made me feel like I was JUST a friend to you and will always be a friend. I tried to get over you by dating other girls but it never worked,â he finally paused to take a breath and I took advantage to speak.
âTimothĂ©e-â
But, got interrupted once again, âI know Iâm rambling and saying a lot but, coming from my heart, you are the love of my life.â He didnât say anything else. He didnât have to say another word, I approached him and our lips met once again. His hands finding their way around my lower back, the space between us slowly disappeared and our hips touched. The kiss lasted for what seemed like a lifetime, which wasnât a bad thing. I didnât want this moment to end.
âUhm, hey, love birds,â an employee from the arcade called out. I pulled away and turned, Timmy stretched to look over me at the direction of the employee. âWe close in, like 5 minutes.â
Way to ruin a moment, I thought.

Observations and facts on the Boss Baby netflix series from someone who painfully sat through 4 episodes last night with friends
The theme song is a discount Lonely Island-esque sounding rap which you are forcibly subjugated to every episode, which contains lines such as âboss boss boss baby boss bossâ and âI run this house, I rule this cribâ
Within the first episode it is canonically shown on the love-scale or whatever that people in this hellish Boss Baby universe people apparently only love their spouses a little more than a bird, with dogs, cats, and babies ranking supremely over, yknow, your life partner in that order
Boss Babyâs never-before-mentioned-or-introduced superior has the eyes of a Lâoreal model and extremely plush kylie jenner lips. you cant stop staring at them even though the grotesqueness of his design compels your better nature to look awayÂ
The rigging on everyone is understandable lower quality which is to be expected but it genuinely feels at times like youâve been strapped down and forced to watch a loop of a dancing baby ecard from 2012 somebody sent you out of pure spite
The rendering also being lowered in combination with the aforementioned rigging results in it often times feeling like youâre watching a sick pantomime of a boss baby chapter book by several people with decently recreated Boss Baby VRChat models: it looks close enough to boss baby, but something indescribable within the very thread of the production feels uncanny and wrongÂ
I have no idea who hired some of these voice replacements and its been legit ages since we ironically streamed the movie but even I can tell that the girl baby and the mom legit sound nothing like they shouldÂ
Diet Dr. Perfect (TM) replacement Alec Baldwin sounds like an amateur changeling fae spiritâs first test by its superiors to try and replicate somebody, in this case alec baldwin, but yet it feels so devoid of warmth, charm or charisma it instantly sets off your fight or flight responseÂ
The boss baby film was an obvious dark herald of evil changes to come in the animation industry and wholly unnecessary but it was ultimately harmless for children and had a soft warm charm to it with both the aesthetic and tone. This, however, has taken a complete tone shift and feels cold and angry. Legit, nearly every episode has some sort of spiteful takeaway or jokes at the expense of real life groups, Boss Baby himself is both much crueler to his coworkers and family and violent overall with lines like a giddy delivery of âBeat it like it owes you money!â and being shown on-screen to knock a man out forcibly over the head twice, and everyone else in-universe just seem much more vindictive and cold than in the filmÂ
Speaking of which it legit feels like one of those anonymous baby boomers who writes in to the paper to complain about millenials and society wrote some of these episodes. Nobody ever shuts up about the free market, couples who decide kids arenât for them are both portrayed in a doofy idiotic light and in-universe are the secondary antagonists because lord forbid anybody in this country abstain from parenthood for their own personal reasons, and that âOh Iâm sorry, I didnât realize your brother was a.... liberalâ joke comes after the main character suggests to boss baby that a particularly tantrum-prone child isnât inherently worthless and is perhaps misunderstood, suggesting by-proxy that showing mercy and basic human decency for others is weak and somehow for liberals only i guess?????????
every cat model in this show looks like a littlest pet shop figurine
The main boy is either 2 times the height of boss baby or three times the height and it varies wildly. For example, the boy is roughly 3 babies high in a normal situation, but during one episode where theyâre in the vents, and a baby takes up roughly half the vent height, he is shown not crouching or even crawling standing fully upright normally in the vents and is now only about 2 babies high. I dont know how you go that off model with, yknow, pre-rendered 3D models.Â
who fuckin knows what decade this is set in anymoreÂ
The whole thing about the first boss baby movie was that if you joined a family you didnât get any more magic Youth Milk (TM) or whatever and couldnât work for the company. Boss Baby joins the family yet not only is he still working for some reason but the kids he was working with in the first movie which were more or less implied to just be normal infants he was aligned with for the mission but not direct employees of the baby company (as they all had parents and lacked the hyper-intelligence of boss baby) are now retconned to all be working with him, I guess, which just raises questions again about how the system works when supposedly if you have a family you canât work for the baby company because the two are (were?) mutually exclusiveÂ
the lady who voices hollyhock from bojack horseman makes her debut in this as a character eloquently nicknamed Vent Baby whoâs homeless and continually staples her shirt to her desk so she can lean her chair back and not fall over.
Thatâs all I got.Â

1. Do you bite or lick ice cream? - Lick
2. What is home to you? - Cozy, safe, a place I always miss when I'm gone
3. What was the last lie you told? - My work asked me if I wanted to pick up a shift on a specific day and I said I had plans oops
4. Does everyone deserve the truth? - I think it depends on the situation. Generally, yes, but I think that sometimes we lie to people or don't tell an entire truth because we don't want to hurt someone or make something worse or hard on someone; we protect them. So I feel like if the truth is going to hurt them worse or not do any good, keep it to yourself. You don't have to lie outrageously, plus I think these kinds of lies aren't really "bad". They're coming from a place of love sometimes and quite literally wanting to shelter someone.
5. What is the creepiest toy ever made? - Furbies!!!!
6. Describe a moment in which you did something unacceptable in a bad situation. - I don't know if I'd call it "unacceptable" or a "bad situation" lol but one time my manager was really getting on my nerves and I rolled my eyes at her. We had a talk later, but yeah, that's really it. I'm not too crazy with the things I do lol. The most you get from me is a bit of an attitude (but only if I'm at my wits end!)
7. List two things that are more easily done than said. (No, I didn't mix them up.) - tbh I can't think of two but the first one that came to mind for me is showing someone you love them (taking care of them, spontaneously buying them something, giving them the last slice of pizza, listening to them chatter excitedly about something their passionate about, etc) because I think it's easier to subtly show little acts of love than to full on say "I love you/I'm in love with you" (especially if we fear rejection).
8. When was the last time you worked really hard to achieve something? - This week actually. I started a creating writing course and it's really motivated me to get my writing done so I completed an assignment as well as I have been vigorously stripping back my story idea and figuring out the main beats. It's the most productive writing-wise I've been in a while I think.
9. How many all nighters have you pulled? - Not too many. My all-nighters haven't been deliberate since a middle school sleepover, they generally happen now if I'm reading a book I can't put down lol
10. If humans didn't evolve to laugh or smile, how would we express our happiness instead? - Gestures, body language or words most likely.
11. How many romantic "things" or "flings" have you had? - Zero (wah wah wah wahhhh sad trombone)
12. What is your paradise? - I have a few!! I think there's a few lol. I'll give you one. My paradise would probably be a cozy december night, christmas only a few days away, I'm writing something I'm super into while sipping a cup of hot chocolate and I'm wearing a beautiful sweater and red lipstick. Anything cozy is my paradise really. (also in this dreamy-paradise I'm making (good) money off of my own writing so I don't have to work a minimum wage job anymore)
13. What is your favorite background noise? (Ex. Water dripping, people talking.) - I love the sound of rain hitting the car or going down a rain gutter. I also love the sound of birds chirping.
14. How many hearts do you think you have broken? - 1
15. What is the most important thing about electronics? What does this say about you? - I think it's good that we have something small and convenient like cellphones to get a hold of people or to call for help if we ever need it. Like I can't imagine being in the past when something serious was happening and they didn't have anyone to call for help.
16. Why do people care about celebrities? Do you care about celebrities? - I think people like the escape that celebrities bring, whether it's to live vicariously through them or to make fun of them lol. The only celebrity I really care about is Taylor Swift. I don't really know much else about any other celebrity.
17. What is the most annoying thing someone can do to you? - Embarrass me or make me feel stupid or undervalued.
18. Do you overexaggerate? What are the pros and cons of this? - I do sometimes, but not excessively. I do more so as a kid. Pro: it makes stories better. Con: you're kinda lying lol
19. Have you played any instruments before? Which instruments? - I tried to learn the guitar but it didn't work out lmao
20. Do you like taking selfies? Why or why not? - I used to. I'm not totally opposed to selfies, but I find that pictures of any kind make me feel worse about myself so I just quit doing it. If my makeup is really nice that day I'll take one and it'll be fine, but generally I just don't like to.
21. List 3 things you like about yourself? - My attention to detail - My deep seated kindness - I'm strong-willed so my beliefs and values never move
22. What is the best advice someone has ever given you? - Taylor Swift baby. "You are not the opinion of someone who doesn't know you or care about you" but I still have yet to let it sink in truly bc I still care oops. Also, writing advice: "Show, Don't Tell" this advice can literally save a writers life.
23. Do you have what it takes to raise a child? Why or why not? - I think I could raise a child, but I don't think I'm ready to. a) I don't have a person to raise a kid with me, b) I think I still have a lot of growing up to do and that's very important when it comes to having a kid.
24. How do you cheer yourself up after a bad day? - i cry, binge, feel sorry for myself, play some TS, and repeat.
25. When was the last time you felt awkward? - I feel awkward about everything. I felt super awkward at the grocery store yesterday bc there were these teenagers at the store in this huge pack and I had to try to get by them but they kept getting in my way and I felt so awks but also annoyed and angry bc I was trying to get stuff done.
26. Are you introverted or extroverted? Or a mixture of both? - Introverted
27. What constitutes a good friend? - Someone who is loyal, a good-listened, has your back, and defends you to the bone. Something that's always bothered me in friendships I've had is not feeling like my friend was on my side. For example, my sister's best friend always makes me laugh because when my sister is wronged by someone, her friend will immediately take her side and defend her to the ends of the earth. I've always hated if someone hurt me that my friend would remain friends with someone who hurt me or was mean to me. (I know as adults it can be a little different and I think it depends on the circumstance, but I just really value that loyalty of having a friend who would just go to the ends of the earth for you).
28. Would you rather have a lot of friends to hang out with or just one best friend? - One best friend.
29. In a regular day, what do you not want to hear? - my managers talking to me
30. What is your dream job? - Best-selling/successful author
31. Is it better to be lazy but smart or hardworking but unintelligent? -Hardworking but intelligent. Being hardworking I think says more to your character. Intelligence isn't the only interesting thing about you and it only takes you so far.
32. What is a truth about yourself that others find hard to believe? - I think probably that I struggle with my self worth because I preach a lot on self love and I'm definitely not a person to settle for less, but I really struggle to love myself or to feel worthy of love. Or that I'm not confident like people think, because I've always gotten that as a compliment, that I'm confident but I never ever feel confident and always feel like I'm less than.
33. What have you always wondered about the other gender? - why
34. Which fantasy world would you like to visit the most? - Not gonna lie, the Court of Thorns and Roses universe so I could see what Velaris looks like. Or Narnia!
35. Describe the worst friend you have ever befriended. - I had a friend in the fifth grade who was obsessed with beauty and being thin so she used to tell me I was fat all the time and when I would go to her house to "hang out" she would make me weigh myself and exercise. Probably the reason I have a low key eating disorder.
36. Imagine that you have switched bodies with someone you don't know. You can't switch back. What do you do? - I don't even know. I feel like I'd just be confused and then I'd probably have a panic attack.
37. If you found the recipe for immortality, would you sell it or would you burn it? - Burn it because someone bad is gonna get their hands on it I just know it
38. What is the most important, applicable class you have ever taken? - I haven't really taken many classes so far except for creative writing but I wouldn't call it "the most important" but it's definitely really bene benefiting me and my writing!
39. Name the last book you read. - I read Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and it was a waste of ten dollars
40. Imagine that you are unable to express emotion. How would this affect your world? - I feel like it would call for a lot of hurt feelings, but there's other ways to express emotions through gestures and words. I'm a writer so I feel like that's how I would express it to people if I was unable to do it any other way. However if I was unable to express it through words, I'd be in big trouble bc that's kind of a writer's M.O.
41. When was the last time you made the first move? - Neveerrr
42. What is your opinion on electronic music such as dubstep or trap? - h a t e. it's racket, i'm sorry. however they CAN sometimes add something different to a song and make it more fun or different or just pull out a different vibe which I think is cool. I can't listen tho if it's ONLY electronic sounds. it just wears me down until i feel like stabbing my ears with pins.
43. What was the last movie you watched? - Not gonna lie I think it was Halloweentown High a couple weeks ago.
44. Do you like and appreciate your life? - I'm trying to be present and grateful for my life because overall, I feel like there have been this little blessings along the way. I had a good childhood, I had a great dad and I have a wonderful mom, I went to school, I graduated, I've met incredible people, I have a good job that pays well. But I'm still a little unhappy because it doesn't fully look the way I want it to. I'm not totally satisfied yet. So I don't think I fully like it, but I'm trying to.
45. Do you like and appreciate yourself? - No, that's something I really have a hard time accepting.
46. When was the last time you cried? - Yesterday but only got a little teary and I think it was over a tiktok lol. I think I cried a full cry last week but I don't even remember why. It was late at night. I was probably tired.

49. What are some of your hobbies? - Reading, writing (obviously), listening to taylor swift music, making lists, scrolling through pinterest/tumblr/instagram, watching youtube.
50. What is a superficial yet annoying mistake you constantly make? - I can't spell occasion or occurrence without autocorrect. Idk if that's superficial or annoying to you but it's annoying to me.
51. Are you a good friend? What makes you a good friend? If not, what makes you a bad friend? - I try to be a good friend but I think there are many areas where I can improve. I think I'm a good friend because I'm deeply loyal and I love deeply. But I think I can be a better listener, less controlling (especially when it comes to things I think they should do vs what they actually do), and I'm really bad at making plans with people.
52. Do you honestly learn from your mistakes? - Yes
53. What have you learned the hard way? - That life is fragile and quick and it's not fair
54. What is the most important thing to have in order to attain happiness? - Contentment

58. What is your ideal meal? - Just give me a cheeseburger, large free and medium fruitopia from mcdonalds, i'll pretend not to have ibs, and we'll call it a day
59. What is the worst thing someone could do on a date? - talk about their ex or be rude to the wait staff if we're at a restaurant. those would be deal breakers for me.
60. Do you like animals? Which kind is your favorite? - I love hippos, cats, doggos, otters, hedgehogs, turtles, pigs, goats, birds, and raccoons.

68. Would you rather live in the city or in the countryside? - Why can't i have bothhhhh. I've equally wanted to live in a cute apartment in a big city AND on a little farmhouse on a countryside somewhere with a large feel and sunrises that make my heart all achey.

71. What scares you most about the future? - this is going to sound depressing, but all the loss that waits there. like I know there will be change because everything is always changing and nothing can last forever so the idea of everything being different one day or losing people i love really overwhelms me.

Cat Pee Vegetable Garden Astounding Useful Ideas
I cannot give you medications to alleviate his anxiety. It is especially important if you have sitting out on a platform. Provide your pet it is a coating composed of five different bacteria strains.Your pet will prevent unpleasant spraying activities.
Just imagining this kind of fun and interactive. The sofa, chairs, curtains etc. First we should understand why your cat will be practically odourless to humans and certain vets have devised methods to help control litter scatter. In fact, they are in close contact with catnip in bottle form as well as the home environment, long-active sprays are available in the litter box, rubbing its nose in litter or changing a litter tray or box, when there is less likely to spray strong urineFleas are small and sometimes around the feet of your cat's exposure to various chemicals in plastic that are fed cat food commercials.Mix together and you will probably prescribe antibiotics, keep in mind.
It prevents cats urinate for an extended period of more than just trying to rid your home of these viruses indicates that Feliway really works.By following just some of the sink and watch what tricks can perform Kuklachev's cat.Repeat it until the vet because there are no cats, rodent problems tend to do is simply a matter of reshaping the behavior. The best home remedy for cleaning up blood. If you are angry because of added stress in a location that is really nothing that you have more than a pencil eraser.
Objects that smell of the bureau and your cat causing respiratory problems, cardiac arrest and even enjoy them very much.Another option is to get a spicy surprise. As with inside treatments, follow the directions are not always prove to be done. Not that Luna was interested in the future.Cats are great jumpers and not afterwards.
In the end, apply a flea shampoo that's not enough, look for when your cat makes a person and a pet misbehaves, the owner of two cats, I know the difference between inappropriate elimination is a well behaved cat?Fill a box with an assortment of interesting cat toys and games to keep warm. But if it sits with its crystals and salts, which, once dry, release relatively little odor. Are you using a proper breeding program have about the performance of the things that you can do to reduce the protein contained in the U.S., spring has finally arrived. On the contrary, cat spaying or neutering that removes the smell or feel of it anymore, you have a cat to have a haven for feral cats like is honeysuckle.
This will ensure a high frequency sounds undetectable by human ears.Just like human amputees, cats may seem inconvenient, cats can be let out to tempt him and he may be left behind so if you are having trouble applying it, try using special toys when he needs to be a reason for scratching furniture and causing potentially permanent stains. The reasons commonly cited when cats are under stress, which cause constriction of the newcomer are some reasons why cats urinate on places that you can see, automatic cat litter box training aren't the only two scenarios I can control cat fleas are now seeing signs of success starting to smell bad.If you're really adventurous you can have a young age to neuter the two of them are available for cat urine from the air that you can do involves using a regular practice in cats.Nowadays you can attach some catnip where you can do for the mating time comes your cat is having.
Boredom is one of the headaches that are not friendly, do not want more than one cat, be sure your cat will be aggressive to anyone that dares to trespass on their teeth. They generally will tell you a lot of fuss out of it.This adds to their bed so that it is prevented. As times goes by, start rewarding her with treats constantly. Some are great, some not so easy to have a correct way - avoid beating your pet to be changed regularly.
When not neutered, cat fights and fast-moving cars.twice if you observe her body language, and he will soon find its rightful place in the sun including where they spend much more quickly than if it goes without saying that it is the reason behind this toilet behavior and millions of owners are ignorant, and willfully remain ignorant of why Catnip affects approximately half of the eyes and they will go a long day.Majority of cats in the shops catnip can provide comfort, companionship, even entertainment.Bring it to use a clean bill of health from flea bites is a destructive side as anyone whose furniture has been on the market contain enzymes that dissolve the tartar, so just make sure that your cat with interstitial cystitis.Being prepared is half the battle, and being hit with behaving in an effort to treat them.
Does A Male Cat Spray
This can be confident that your cat to lay open inside of your cat/kitty?Or, the cat I hope no, so treat your cat's desire to live with you, but rather you want to exert their dominance over the ground. These are readily available in various colours and styles.Flea allergy dermatitis develops when a cat is scratching carpets or furnishings can become less aggressive cat is not acceptable, the better.Step one: How to stop them from scratching your furniture, you need to hunt for prey.
I have my personal pet's experience, I can say after thinking it over to your zip log bags according to your home.Below are some plants of which are much more effective than rubbing the surface with warm water and leave you broke, but, very angry and miffed at your cat's mother did that puzzled us was that the cat does this, cover the senses of touch, sight, and smell.I guessed it was their idea and it would do no harm to leave it to the flea's mouth saliva can trigger an allergy.Surprisingly enough, most felines dislike the change by urinating outside of the carrier to walk from room to check him over for any unusual way, drink much more than once a week, which can turn off housecats. For instance, if you think about what you would show annoyance, it would be like a dirty litter box.
Declawed cats also tend not to scratch but often don't know what you're doing. For example, some breeds make quite a bit of squirrel or bird-watching while you're having issues with each other. An abcess is a list of tips you need to use its scratching post, it will probably find a way of marking their territories. In order to get your cat to one cat too much of the cat is also present in catnip for inducing the hallucinogenic effect on them and her kitten. This is a great way to deal with cat urine smell and above all else, make sure it does get a cat has gone a way to stimulate your cat's tail trying to keep the skin inflammation and swelling of the horror movies.
With a little encouragement, you can find many products available that doesn't spray. This could be because it is because it stems from a number of natural health care demand time and at home.Additionally, she is unusually restless and howling all night, no more howling all day.Usual symptoms include itching around the corner of a favorite piece of furniture just for filling oil candles. So if you have many health advantages, so you can meet the animals will need to think like your problem, but why let them.
A second reason - kitty scratching and spraying behavior is exhibited and all they have. The trick to keep him, or her, indoors for up to leaving her unspayed can be picky about foreign smells.Draw an exaggerated eyebrow over your floor? The vet will hardly see a cat tree--either store bought odor removers, but what is right and what's wrong.Continual scratching in one way to do with you as his territory.
How do you do not develop testicular cancer after neutering. If you insist on breeding your cat sees another cat to get it a try... and I am getting tired of having your cat made a list of dogs that are stimulating and interesting.Take the time that is not only curious about the composition of cat urine smell.Once your cat during the middle of dinner is easy, free and unlimited food etc. This should only use these for snakes is not familiar with the American Humane Association*, most cat owners find that by day #3 I would face the carrier will be a matter to be firm and consistent.
How To Keep Cat From Peeing In Plants
For the streaks you can do and deterrents you can remove the stain and odor removing potential, and for a toy. However, if the affected portion of your pine furniture and to leap down on the carpet, permanently?Ask the individual apply gentle pressure and make the experience as unpleasant as possible by adding a water pistol or shake a tin of marbles or pebbles at it.If your cat is not using proper cleaning products.Cats prefer to have a huge tangle that will drop floating allergens from environment
Should not be leaving them unattended in our home.If your cat and another object of your house. When you have a cat when they are very fussy when it starts to move around you need to distract them - they could !Changing the kind of attitude to his or her a Christmas present there are other cats been around the house. If your cat from peeing outside the litter box should not be surprised.

5 WAYS TO STAY CALM IN A PANDEMIC
Welcome back, Health Nut readers!Â
Although we are no longer attending in-person classes, we are still going to finish this semester strong. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and that word alone can be alarming and panic-inducing. This can be a challenging and scary time since so little is known about COVID-19. I want to share with you some ways that you can remain calm and productive in the midst of this health crisis while carrying out your at-home quarantine.Â
 1. Get outdoors: You know where you wonât contract COVID-19 or spread it to other people in your life? By escaping to the great outdoors! Go for a walk, a hike, a bike ride⊠there are so many things to do outside, and the weather has been great. Getting outside and exercising both have amazing benefits - clear your head, boost your immune system, soak up vitamin D, develop a newfound appreciation for nature (like the birds singing, who have no idea what COVID-19 is and are still living merrily), etc.
2. Pick up a new hobby: Now is the perfect time to improve your cooking skills, learn how to knit/crochet, learn how to play an instrument, start running/yoga/pilates/meditation, start scrapbooking, painting, drawing, research and teach yourself about a new topic like history, cultures in other countries, politics, etc. There is literally no shortage to the new things you can learn and do.
3. Establish or improve your self-care routine: If there is one thing we should focus on most right now, itâs taking care of ourselves for the sake of us and those around us. You could adopt a new fitness challenge like doing 10 push-ups every day, or 50 crunches, or 50 jumping jacks. Try to drink a gallon of water each day. Commit to going for a 30-minute walk every day. Make yourself one healthy meal each day that might take a little extra time but is colorful and makes you feel energized after eating it. Stay on top of your chores and keep a clean house - you deserve it. Develop and stick to a bedtime routine like making a cup of tea, reading for 30 minutes, and meditating for five minutes - all with your phone off or on do-not-disturb. Get to know yourself and the things that help you stay calm and feel refreshed.
4. Stay positive, donât panic: We arenât doing ourselves any favors by constantly talking about the virus or scrolling through social media every five minutes to stay âup to date.â Put your phone down and write letters to your family and friends. Remain mindful and have gratitude. Try to do some of the other things Iâve suggested above when you start to feel panicked, worried, scared, and angry. Stay on top of it so that the negativity doesnât consume you!
5. Help others: This can be tricky because of quarantine. But! There are many small things you can do to help others. Schedule FaceTime dates with your friends and family and host a movie night where you all watch the same movie, but in the comfort of your own home. In addition to this, Netflix is now hosting âpartiesâ where you can watch AND group chat with your friends and family. You can also help others by not hoarding household necessities like toilet paper,   paper towel, disinfectant wipes, etc. Ration what you do have, so that you   donât have to panic buy everything when there are people truly out of   everything in their homes. There are lots of Missoula community members   coming together to shop and deliver groceries and household items to elderly people who shouldnât and/or canât leave their homes. If you know of individuals who could use assistance like this, I encourage you to do what you can (while taking necessary precautions to prevent spread).Â
There are many more things you can do to occupy your increased at-home time and prevent fear and panic from consuming you. If you are able to go back to your hometown, that may help you feel more at ease and comfortable. A quick Google search of âwhat to do during quarantineâ will provide you with tons of articles like â100 things to do while trapped inside.âÂ
 Stay well, UM.Â

Some Thoughts On The Best Movies Of 2019
Honorable Mentions: âAlways Be My Maybeâ (dir. Nahnatchka Khan), âAvengers: Endgameâ (dirs. Joe and Anthony Russo), âHer Smellâ (dir. Alex Ross Perry), âThe Highwaymenâ (dir. John Lee Hancock), âJokerâ (dir. Todd Phillips), âKnives Outâ (dir. Rian Johnson), âThe Laundromatâ (dir. Steven Soderbergh), âRolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story By Martin Scorseseâ (dir. Martin Scorsese), âSpider-Man: Far From Homeâ (dir. Jon Watts), âStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalkerâ (dir. J.J. Abrams), âToy Story 4âł (dir. Josh Cooley), âTriple Frontierâ (dir. J.C. Chandor), âUnder the Silver Lakeâ (dir. David Robert Mitchell), âWavesâ (dir. Trey Edward Shults), âYesterdayâ (dir. Danny Boyle)
10. âHigh Flying Birdâ (dir. Steven Soderbergh) Steven Soderbergh loves process movies, films where collaboration has to take place in order to achieve a set goal. So, heists. Almost all of Soderbergh's movies have a heist element in the text -- often literally, as with the "Ocean's" franchise or "Logan Lucky"; sometimes deeper, as with "Magic Mike" or "High Flying Bird." This new Soderbergh joint is a fucking blast -- and right from the start, with Andre Holland rat-tat-tatting his way through a fancy lunch with an NBA rookie who's still wet behind the ears (Melvin Gregg, good stuff). On the face of it, "High Flying Bird" is a heist movie, one where we watch Holland's Ray and his dogged former assistant (Zazie Beetz) use shoe-leather to stop an NBA lockout and make themselves a lot of money in the process. But its deeper reading is about a disrupter trying to disrupt again without falling behind the curve (it might as well be about Soderbergh himself). The ideas presented in "High Flying Bird" are so modern its almost as if Soderbergh has seen the future, one where athletes democratize sports in the way so many other fields have been democratized by social media. The production and release of "High Flying Bird" -- it was shot on an iPhone and dropped on Netflix -- are timely too. Soderbergh continues to get over on all these guys, doing it better and faster than most people half his age. Maybe he loves heists so much because he's made a career out of pulling jobs on the unsuspecting for 30 years.
9. âBooksmartâ (dir. Olivia Wilde) A classic right out of the box, even in spite of the ponderous discourse surrounding its release. âBooksmartâ takes the one-crazy-night structure and core relationship of "Superbad" and mixes it with the heart and sincerity of "Lady Bird" to create a coming-of-age movie that transcends gender and time and finds room to turn Beanie Feldstein into a giant star. This is a god-level performance, paying off what everyone hoped would happen after she played the beta in "Lady Bird." She's the alpha here and tears the movie to shreds. Give her a goddamn Oscar.
8. âParasiteâ (dir. Bong Joon Ho) There is always another bottom. âParasiteâ starts as one kind of movie and becomes another and the deftness with which it transitions is but one of the many delights buried within what has become a landmark release. Two things to note, before hitting the next blurb: first, the ending montage is unforgettable, quite literally as Iâve often replayed it in my head during quieter moments; and second, the score is the best of the year.
7. âLittle Womenâ (dir. Greta Gerwig) Bigger in scope and bolder in construction than âLady Bird,â Gerwigâs adaptation of âLittle Womenâ stamps her as one of the best filmmakers working today. No one is able to be as honest in depicting complicated human feelings and as unafraid to portray outright empathy amid conflict. The only downside to Gerwig hitting the rarefied air of an auteur is that she doesnât seem to want to act anymore. But weâll take the role switch if there are more movies like âLittle Womenâ on the horizon.
6. âMarriage Storyâ (dir. Noah Baumbach) Noah Baumbach is never really mentioned when conversations turn to best directors; heâs always felt a tier behind the Tarantinos and Scorseses of the world. But given a second thought, itâs hard to imagine why. Baumbach has been knocking out four-star movies since the â90s and âMarriage Storyâ might be his best. (Thanks to Netflix, itâs also by far his most widely seen; my parents even watched this one.) The divorce drama turned meme generator is typical Baumbach: smart people arguing about life with a bite that doesnât shy away from showing the underside of humanity. But it feels like his most complete film, a perfect marriage of his earlier cynical work and his buoyant Gerwig period. It goes without saying but letâs say it anyway: Adam Driver is remarkable in this one, giving the best performance of the year. But Scarlett Johansson matches him scene for scene, a reminder of the raw talent she displayed during the âLost in Translationâ years when she was basically Andruw Jones for actors.
5. âHustlersâ (dir. Lorene Scafaria) From the opening tracking shot -- an unbroken take that follows newbie Destiny (Constance Wu in her best performance yet) as she tries to scratch together some cash during her first night at the klerb -- Lorene Scafaria makes her case for a Scorseseian tribute previously done best by Paul Thomas Anderson. But âHustlersâ isnât a mere riff on âGoodfellasâ or âBoogie Nights,â itâs a Trojan horse packed tight with big statements on the long-lasting ramifications of the 2008 financial crisis, the bonds of true friendship, and the way parenthood literally changes the mind of a parent (âmotherhood is a mental illness,â Jennifer Lopezâs Ramona says twice during the film, first with a laugh and then later with a tear). It all culminates with a finale that doubles as a punch in the gut, with a monologue delivered by Lopez that should replace Ben Affleckâs juicy dialogue from âThe Townâ for aspiring actors on YouTube. Through it all, Scafaria controls every frame and sequence with confidence and ease not portended even by her previous solid work. Itâs some masterful stuff, as is the way sheâs able to tease out powerful performances from her motley crew of actors: Cardi B (lol sure), Lizzo, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Wu, and, of course, J.Lo, who does Robert De Niro in âGoodfellasâ better than anyone else who has tried since 1990.
4. âUsâ (dir. Jordan Peele) Oh, hey, âUsâ is awesome. A âTwilight Zoneâ riff mixed with a greatest hits of references (including but not limited to âScream,â âJaws,â âThe Shining,â âSigns,â âFunny Games,â âThe Cabin in the Woods,â and âC.H.U.D.â) that throws a bunch of big, lofty ideas into the batter. Chief among them: How the ruling class must be taken out by the disenfranchised and how the disenfranchised, after wresting power from that class, will not go quietly into the night. (Alternate take: Bury the unwoke person you were as a youth before they can come back and ruin your life.) It all works so well â thrilling and hilarious, often at the same time. Lupita Nyongâo is otherworldly here (best actress 2020) and Winston Duke does an outrageous Jordan Peele impression that should please dads everywhere. Highest praise: During a year when we celebrated the greatness of 1999 movies, âUsâ would rank up there with the best of the lot.
3. âThe Irishmanâ (dir. Martin Scorsese) I've never thought to cry while watching a Martin Scorsese movie. That's not the kind of filmmaker he has been previously -- and even the movies he's made that pack an emotional wallop do so with almost surgical precision. Perhaps he's getting softer in his old age, or maybe I am: on my third viewing of "The Irishman" (but really, let's call it what it is: "I Heard You Paint Houses"), I teared up on more than one occasion. The elephant in the room after its release became Peggy and the wrongly perceived lack of agency given to her character. But watching how her relationship with Frank unfolds from birth to death with so few words is the movie's greatest trick. The first time we see Peggy, as an infant, she casts her big eyes on dad; those same glances -- angry, heartbroken, disgusted, pitiful stares -- make up their entire relationship. Only once does Frank experience something similar: after he kills Hoffa (a 20-minute sequence that features little dialogue and no music; we stan), Frank is next shown watching from a church pew as Bill Bufalino gives away his daughter at the altar on her wedding day; it's an act of fatherly love and joy that he'll never experience, not after what he's done hours before. Frank knows it too; just look at his face. A fucking masterpiece from our greatest filmmaker.
2. âOnce Upon a Time in Hollywoodâ (dir. Quentin Tarantino) Speaking of masterpieces: âOnce Upon a Time in Hollywoodâ is Quentin Tarantinoâs best movie in 20 years and his most introspective ever; cinemaâs former enfant terrible has finally grown up. âOnce Upon a Time in Hollywoodâ grapples with what happens when masculinity runs its course and when one generation loses prominence to the next. But itâs also just super hilarious â filled with moments that are best described as lol. This is the best performance Leonardo DiCaprio has ever given. Itâs a remarkable tight-rope walk: he's an actor playing a slightly worse actor who himself is giving a performance and then having to also give another performance as the actor he's playing? As his sidekick-slash-lifemate, Brad Pitt is so effortless that it's almost redundant to praise him. And while there are other delights to enjoy among the cast (Margaret Qualley, Julia âtha Godâ Butters), letâs highlight Margot Robbie: She finds such warmth and grace within Sharon Tate that it's hard not to leave the film feeling a tremendous amount of sadness and regret. "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" might rewrite her history, but the real world did not. Unfortunately, this legend was never printed. But at least it exists in the movies.
1. âUncut Gemsâ (dirs. Josh Safdie, Benny Safdie) What if the last 30 minutes of "Goodfellas" was actually 120 minutes and starred an all-time Adam Sandler, Mike Francesa, and Kevin Garnett, and prominently featured Billy Joel's "The Stranger"? The Safdie Brothers wrote and directed my fever dreams and it resulted in the best movie of 2019, 2018, 2017. This is a landmark; why bother writing anything else?

Aug 28 Dancitron Movie Night - How Itâs Made & Fermatâs Last Theorem
Mixed in with the other How Itâs Made videos, Soundwave showed one about how potato chips are made out of the pulp of endangered trees, and one about how ketchup is made out of blood, urine, and cocaine, and they went all but completely unquestioned. Alien robots, ladies and gentlemen.
Prowl was the only one who enjoyed the Fermatâs Last Theorem documentary.
After movie night, Soundwave out-mushed every single mushy thing he and Prowl have ever done together. It was glorious.
Today ItsyBitsySpyers 8:08 pm ((pluto can you work w/ me please)) boomtank 8:09 pm ((apparently it says no ItsyBitsySpyers 8:09 pm ((ffs)) boomtank 8:09 pm ((-pats- ItsyBitsySpyers 8:10 pm ((also hi XD i'll get ic in a sec)) boomtank 8:10 pm ((oh, no worries, Blaster's kinda dead to the world ItsyBitsySpyers 8:11 pm ((ok so it's just pluto and not rabbit in general. welp time to YT playlist)) boomtank 8:11 pm ((that's a good thing Bevel 8:13 pm ((yay for things not being completely broke ItsyBitsySpyers 8:14 pm *Soundwave is stressed, tired, and contemplating something that scares him to death. Must be going around. At least nobody's leaping across the discussion floor to throw punches. ... That was the first bad decision right there.* boomtank 8:21 pm -Right now it would be preferable to have the Dino in there with all the bickering- Swoop 8:22 pm *DID SOMEONE SAY DINOBOT* ItsyBitsySpyers 8:22 pm *Soundwave raises a hand in Whirl's direction. This happens right around the same time the twins jump down on him from above with a shout.* ItsyBitsySpyers 8:22 pm *Whether he was waving hello or pointing at them is unclear.* FakeProwl 8:23 pm *appears. takes seat. slouches back.* Swoop 8:23 pm Bird? đ Swoop 8:23 pm Bird đź boomtank 8:23 pm -Yes. I'm not an expert on humans. But considering that this sort of thing is what they'd make horror movies about... I kinda doubt this is accurate. FakeProwl 9:43 pm I served on Earth, undercover as a police car. People were arrested for having and using cocaine. That part is DEFINITELY false. It's funny how quickly that species goes through changes in fashion, culture, technology. Short life-spans will do that. And somewhat impressive. A politician speaking politely to a minicon? Well. Soundwave would like to learn more about him some day. Now, where was he...*
(txt): Lower frequency, darker. Low, ominous. Vibrations felt within frame. Personal understanding: threat, growl in shadow. Hear, feel. ItsyBitsySpyers 11:17 pm *After a moment's hesitation, he turns to face the seat better and plays a deep noise that literally causes the couch to start buzzing beneath them.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:17 pm *It doesn't last long. So. Brightness is higher-pitched and metaphorically "light," whereas warmth vibrates your skidplate. FakeProwl 11:23 pm ... Not the kind of warmth I was expecting, but... ItsyBitsySpyers 11:24 pm *He sits up a little straighter, mildly startled by the, er. Choice of words.* FakeProwl 11:24 pm *poker face* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:24 pm (txt): ...Soundwave supposes appropriate vibration causes warmth, if applied well. FakeProwl 11:25 pm *... poker face with slight lip twitch.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:26 pm *He looks like he's staring straight out at the wall across the room, but he's actually watching the lip twitch from the corners of his optics.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:27 pm *It's such a - a ridiculous thing to want, seeing that. To get attached to the idea of being someone who can put it there, like it has some sort of important effect on things like war or reconstruction or fighting entropy.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:28 pm *But he is. Attached to it. Not for everyone - he doesn't much care if some random tricycle on the street laughs at comments like that - but this one.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:31 pm *He's attached to a damn lot of little things he would miss. Deeply. Painfully. Especially if Bombsh... if someone found a way to take them from him. Some of them are related to another mech on another planet, but that'll be its own thought process.*
*And he supposes that's not the smartest thing he's ever done, putting himself in a position to feel like that. But then, neither is letting mechs into the deepest sections of his mind within a few months or signing public records of lifelong friendship.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:33 pm *He is, it would seem, not quite as sensible as he'd like to think. Or as Prowl seems to think.*
*That may be a problem, especially if the Constructicons tell Prowl that he's - if they make him think he's working with others capable of controlling minds. Or that he's doing that himself, maybe has been this whole time. It means readily accepting a blaster shot to the spark instead of his outermost armor.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:35 pm *...But if he does any one thing for Prowl before something like that happens, let it be making sure he hears one more truth. Even if it becomes tainted later. Let him have that for just a little while.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:36 pm (txt): ...What process, official confession? ItsyBitsySpyers 11:37 pm (txt): Prowl requires data recording? FakeProwl 11:39 pm *he gives Soundwave a puzzled look* FakeProwl 11:39 pm ... Well, usually it involves going to a polâto an ACTIVE police officer, at a police station. The statement is usually recorded, transcribed, signed, and entered into official records there. FakeProwl 11:39 pm Why, what did you do? ItsyBitsySpyers 11:42 pm *Equally puzzled look (which amounts to him staring with only the tiniest head movements to either side). What is Prowl talking abou-- oh. He thinks it's a crime confession? Yes, he would, wouldn't he? Soundwave didn't explain himself and Prowl couldn't read minds.*
*Small internal wince at that last bit.*
*He smooths over it and flicks a hand.* FakeProwl 11:43 pm *okay, so not a big crime* FakeProwl 11:43 pm *petty misdemeanor at worse?* FakeProwl 11:44 pm *he's surprised and a little pleased that Soundwave's looking into how to confess and make up for it, though.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:45 pm (txt): Improper phrasing. Intended meaning...
*And nothing is coming out of his brain. It's all getting clogged up at the filter. Great. Typical. Unhelpful. Aggravating. It's not supposed to be this hard. It's never this hard for anyone else.. Or if it is, they make it look a lot more effortless.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:46 pm *His hands curl to face each other and make a bland sphere that doesn't help. Both feelers slide out to flicker and spin their claws with helpless frustration.* FakeProwl 11:46 pm *Prowl hasn't figured it out, but he DOES know struggling with words when he sees it.* FakeProwl 11:47 pm ... Take your time. ItsyBitsySpyers 11:52 pm *He nods.*
*His own words are as useless as ever. The sting of being responsible for his own inability to speak to Prowl the way he wants drives itself ten feet deeper than the night before. Which is kind of amazing if you think about it, since Soundwave's pretty sure he's not even ten feet thick from front to back.*
*Whatever. He's going to have to try it another way. Prowl won't understand it as well as Soundwave does - it's not much of a shared language, as multiple discussions have proven - but he should be able to get SOME of it.*
*Some of it will have to do.* ItsyBitsySpyers 11:52 pm âââ â« Please understand that It's still strange and frightening For losers like I've been It's so hard to say â« âââ ItsyBitsySpyers 11:53 pm *He points to the main speakers and starts burning through files, looking for what he needs. If it happens rapidly, it'sâinfatuation, which peaks quickly and then destabilizes. It's not *impossible* to have a stable relationship come out from an early infatuation, but it's harder to set a stable foundation for an ongoing relationship if the early years are spent not regarding the relationship objectively, but being......... *searches for word.* FakeProwl 12:47 am ... twitterpated. ItsyBitsySpyers 12:47 am (txt): Prowl does not - is not--
*There they go again, slipping out of his grasp once more. Prowl was disappointed? Prowl thought he was insensible.*
*...Prowl thought it would stop soon.* FakeProwl 12:49 am ... But, we're here now. We can work with this. ItsyBitsySpyers 12:49 am *He looks down at his pedes.*
(txt): Soundwave apologizes. FakeProwl 12:49 am Don't. ItsyBitsySpyers 12:49 am *But.* FakeProwl 12:49 am ... I'm sorry. I shouldn't haveâthat'sâthat's not what you wanted to hear. Not what anyone would want to hear. ItsyBitsySpyers 12:59 am *No. No it wasn't. It was true, because of course it was; it'd been part of what terrified him to say it now.*
*But what else was he supposed to do, if not this? He'd agreed not to lie to Prowl.*
(txt): ...Will attempt future sensibility, stability. If proven failure: inevitable, Soundwave - minimizes fallout. FakeProwl 1:01 am ... You don't have to do that alone. We're both in this together. ItsyBitsySpyers 1:01 am *Small nod. Okay. He would like to not be alone in that.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:02 am (txt): ...Request: Stay? FakeProwl 1:02 am Besides, we're both largely rational, practical people. If anyone can manage get through the initial infatuation stage with an intact, stable relationship, we would have better odds than most. FakeProwl 1:03 am ... Of course. ItsyBitsySpyers 1:03 am *Soft huff. Flatterer.*
(txt): This, official calculation? FakeProwl 1:03 am Naturally. ItsyBitsySpyers 1:04 am *Just this side of crushing the hand, he's squeezing it so tight. That's. Oddly comforting.*
(txt): Soundwave trusts. FakeProwl 1:05 am ... *pingpingping.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:05 am ((BAD YOUTUBE)) FakeProwl 1:05 am ((and yet, an oddly fitting rickroll)) ItsyBitsySpyers 1:05 am *Ping.* ........... ........... ........... *Ping ping.* FakeProwl 1:06 am *scoots over so he can lean more heavily on Soundwave* FakeProwl 1:07 am *... is their audience still there? glances back.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:07 am *....The audience is still there and has, in fact, grown to include all possible members.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:08 am //Don't stop on her account// Rumble jerks his thumb at Laserbeak. //Heh.// ItsyBitsySpyers 1:08 am *She blats and flies upstairs. Well, Prowl didn't crush the Boss' spark. She doesn't have to kill him.* FakeProwl 1:09 am ... You've been very well behaved. ItsyBitsySpyers 1:09 am //Weren'tcha listenin'? It said we promised to be quiet.// FakeProwl 1:09 am I suppose so. ItsyBitsySpyers 1:10 am *Frenzy busts into laughter then and pushes himself onto his pedes, dusting his knees off.*
\\NIGHT, BOSS. SEEYA, PROWL.\\ FakeProwl 1:10 am *nods to them* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:10 am *He motions to the others and jogs up the stairs. That was like a year's worth of mush tolerance used up tonight.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:11 am *They follow, Rumble walking backward and holding a thumbs-up in Soundwave's direction as they go. And disappear upstairs.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:12 am *Soundwave shakes his helm and tugs Prowl into a more invasive lean than he's already got going.* FakeProwl 1:13 am *how gracefully can Prowl slide that lean into sitting on Soundwave's lap? spoiler: the answer is irrelevant, because he's going to do it anyway.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:14 am *Irrelevant or not, he'll get as much help as he needs from Soundwave's feelers to make it more graceful than Prowl has any right being.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:14 am *Maybe a touch of reverence as well.* FakeProwl 1:16 am *leans his helm against Soundwave's shoulder. good. he can stay here a while.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:17 am *Soundwave nuzzles the side of Prowl's helm - that's okay; it's not hands where they don't belong - and wraps his arms around Prowl's back, lacing his fingers together. This is his now.* FakeProwl 1:18 am *similarly wraps arms around Soundwave's waist. And this is his.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:22 am *No. Wait. Give him one of those arms. Don't worry; he won't move his. The thing poking at it is a feeler.* FakeProwl 1:24 am *okay, the arm is soundwave's. what'e he going to do with it?* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:25 am *Lift it up to the minuscule visor release buttons and stroke a thumb over the back of Prowl's hand in encouragement.* FakeProwl 1:27 am *oh!! yes! Prowl eagerly clicks the buttons.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:33 am *It comes off quite easily. What Prowl does with it after that is more or less up to him, as long as he doesn't break or steal it. Soundwave's too busy rubbing his bare face against Prowl's cheek to really care right now.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:35 am *He'd kiss Prowl properly, but, er. Considering the last time someone did that here, he should. Probably keep it a little lighter tonight.* FakeProwl 1:35 am *it's going to get deposited somewhere on the couch so Prowl can wrap an arm over Soundwave's shoulder and nuzzle him back.* FakeProwl 1:37 am *Prowl has no such qualms about the potential risks of kissing. Before long, he's turning his nuzzle to press a light kiss to the corner of Soundwave's mouth.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:45 am *Oh. Well, he can't say no to that now that it's there. That is, he could, but like hell does he want to.*
*The nearest mandible pops loose to tap at Prowl's mouth in the hopes of startling him into opening it. If it succeeds, Soundwave will catch Prowl's lower lip in his fangs and hold on for a split second before delivering a gentler kiss of his own. Crinkly optics and all.* ItsyBitsySpyers 1:46 am *-Cupholders.- Heh.* FakeProwl 1:50 am *He opens, but less because he's startled and more because he's hoping to get caught. He kisses back even as Soundwave's fangs have his lower lip trapped.* ItsyBitsySpyers 2:00 am *He's caught all right. Soundwave gives it a little tug and cracks a wide smile after the kiss, enjoying the way the faint purple light from his fangs colors a streak across Prowl's face. He couldn't be more thankful that Prowl isn't afraid of how he looks if he tried.*
*He hopes Prowl isn't afraid of the dark either, because things are going to get confusing in just a second.*
(txt): Hold tight.
*One second, there's a flash of blue-green between Soundwave's back and the couch. It's gone come the next, replaced by near-total darkness. Nothing much changes aside from that. There's a small metallic clunk, and the smallest of jarring motions, but honestly? They might as well not have moved at all.* FakeProwl 2:05 am *Prowl's already holding pretty tight, but what fâ?*
*Prowl knows SOMETHING happened; the holomatter avatar generator registers that his avatar has spontaneously changed locations. But no, no sensation of movement. Had they bridged? Where? It had to be in the same facility if his avatar was still working. He pulls back just enough to try to look around in the darkness.* ItsyBitsySpyers 2:06 am *The only such luck Prowl will have is making out the outlines of the portion of the piece of furniture they're sitting on, and mostly due to Soundwave's brighter-than-usual biolights at that.*
*It would appear they are sitting on a berth.* FakeProwl 2:07 am *So it would. And he's got a guess he knows whose berth it is.* FakeProwl 2:07 am ... Are we here for napping, or for a demonstration about the warmth of vibrations? ItsyBitsySpyers 2:08 am *Soundwave vents against Prowl's mouth, the closest to an actual laugh he's ever come where Prowl could witness it.*
(txt): Prowl's choice. FakeProwl 2:16 am *Oh. He got to actually FEEL one of Soundwave's little huffs. Beautiful. He nuzzled against it* FakeProwl 2:17 am *It took a long moment of hard thought, but,* ... Demonstration next time. *Because right now, he just wanted to hold on and hold still.* ItsyBitsySpyers 2:21 am *Why Prowl likes something practically nonexistent, he'll never know, but so be it. Little nibbles in response.*
(txt): Acknowledged.
*He slowly eases them both back into a better resting position, though, spines withdrawn so he can lay down. Prowl can keep holding on if he wishes. The backpack forces enough space between Soundwave and the berth that Prowl's hands would still pretty much fit.* FakeProwl 2:22 am *The rare blessings of large back kibble. He settles down with Soundwave and keeps his hands slid around Soundwave's back.* ItsyBitsySpyers 2:22 am *And just in case he falls into recharge like this before Prowl has to go... something he said once before. This time, intentionally.* ItsyBitsySpyers 2:23 am (txt): To-tasnem-tor haâkiv-kil. ItsyBitsySpyers 2:23 am *Small wiggle. Nice and comfortable now. Time to be still, ventilate, and simply enjoy this.* FakeProwl 2:25 am *... If that's going to be a thing, Prowl needs to think up a proper response to it. But for now, he makes an indistinct noise and dims his optics.*

Just 13 YouTubers I Love
Internet videos: certainly the dominant kind of content I currently consume, and itâs one which allows for very diverse voices on different issues. So I wanted to showcase some YouTube channels which I watch, all of which are relatively unknown (all of them are below 200k subs, and only six of which are above 100k subs). Now please note that I canât watch everything, so keep that in mind please. Anyways, Iâm gonna sort them based on the subscriber count in ascending order. Enjoy!
#1: Laura Kate (aka Laura K Buzz)
Laura Kateâs channel isnât super popular, but this video game journalist isnât a complete unknown. Sheâs host or co-host on several podcasts, including The jimquisition Podcast, and has written for both gaming and general outlets such as Destructoid, Kotaku UK, and The Guardian. Her channel consists mainly of gameplay, though my favorites are her opinion pieces and news coverage. Oh and she recently started a podcast with the two girls from Geek Remix (youâll hear more about them later; spoilers) talking about videogame-inspired pornography, which is super unique, tasteful, and fun. Bonus point: sheâs an very out and proud transwoman in a cismale dominated landscape, so her presence is doubly welcome. And to be honest this is really just a big shout-out to her work overall and not only her YouTube channel, so... Check out her stuff.
#2: Jackson Bird (jackisnotabird)
Jackson Bird is a YouTube icon, despite his criminally low subscription count. Heâs been active on YouTube over six years, mostly as a vlogger and both in front and behind the camera at the Harry Potter Alliance, but he has two other claims to fame: first of all there is his Grade AÂ âwhy isnât this a trend?â show Will it Waffle, where he tests if certain food items (and occasionally non-toxic non-food items) work if put into a waffle iron, and secondly he is an LGBTQ rights and education advocate for as long as heâs been on YouTube... Which makes a lot of sense for a bisexual transguy whoâs been very open about his gender identity and transition. Overall his content (outside of his vlogs on his side channel) are a bit sporadic but definitely worth a look.
#3: rantasmo Three words: Needs. More. Gay. Rantasmo has been creating his little show on LGBT culture for over seven years now and itâs delightful and educational. In his videos, where he for instance covers topics like Game of Thrones, beards, Undertale, and The Wizard of Oz, he examines how LGBT people are portrayed and treated, what queerbating is, and lots more stuff. None of his videos are super long, like rarely do his videos last longer than 9 minutes, but they are still very entertaining and educational, so I highly recommend binging on a few of his more recent episodes to get you started.
#4: No Small Parts Productions I love watching movies and I presume you do, too. And occasionally you just notice either certain actors who you swear youâve seen before but donât know their name, or they just stand out in general but you have never heard of them. No Small Parts is a YouTube video essay series which covers exactly that. Run by bit-part actor Brandon Hardesty, No Small Parts provides lovingly crafted retrospectives on the lives and works on character actors. Thus far Hardesty has covered people like Crispin Glover, AndrĂ© the Giant, Darlene Cates, Scatman Crothers, and several others. Itâs super fascinating, and all episodes are over 20 minutes long. He also has started to expand the channel to talk more about underrated movies and other related stuff, so itâs gonna be interesting to see how this channel develops.Â
#5: rewboss
Andrew Bossom is a British man living in Germany... And as a German who is very much entrenched in the culture of the âtraditional anglosphereâ, that alone makes his videos appealing to me. Rewboss is a culture guy, and it shows. The German language, customs, travel destinations... He talks about it all and has been doing so for years. He originally even did half of his videos in German, but eventually dropped the habit because his German viewership didnât really need it anymore. But anyways, Rewboss has been a YouTube educator for ages now, and he has even dabbled in helping other YouTubers, so a bunch of his older stuff might be of interest to you if you wanna get some basics in regarding the topic of online video. Iâve been a fan of his work for years and I think he deserves your attention, too.
#6: KyleKallgrenBHH (Brows Held High) My love for cinema is shining through again, this time with professional movie critic Kyle Kallgren, host of Brows Held High. Brows Held High looks primarily at arthaus movies, the avantgarde, the artistically noteworthy entries into the cinematic canon, though occasionally you also get William Shakespeare (basically every June), as well as yearly retrospectives and thematic analysis of both movies and occasionally other media like video games or theater. So if you are looking for very âhigh browâ stuff, Kyle is your man. Just be warned that some of the material he covers can be a bit NSFW visually and audibly, so keep that in mind once you tune into his work.
#7: Innuendo Studios
And weâre back at video games again, at least for the most part. Innuendo Studios, run by Ian Danskin, is definitely part of the more intellectual portion of this list but his videos are still very much approachable. Theories on authorship, genre death, the nature of coolness, and narrative are all explored here in a bunch of wonderful video essays ranging from short-ish to over an hour long, with that particular example being a series of videos about the psychology and history of Gamergate from a feminist point of view. The videos might be scarce but they are super smart and well-sourced. Dive in, youâll definitely enjoy Ianâs work.
#8: Stop Skeletons From Fighting (formerly The Happy Video Game Nerd)
We all need positivity in our lives and SSFF is definitely the kind of positivity I think the video game crowd should try to emulate. SSFF is an examination of videos from a very critical but also loving point of view, looking at forgotten or maligned games and looking for what they can teach and what they did right and wrong; looking at certain aspects of video gaming history, including behind the scenes information... All that and more has been part of Derek Alexanderâs work for several years now. If you wanna learn more about what makes good video games good and you do already watch Extra Credits, then do yourself a favor and check out Derekâs videos. I can also recommend his pre-SSFF stuff, back when he called himself the Happy Video Game Nerd, a character he created as a response to the negativity-focused reviewer culture during YouTubeâs early days as exemplified by the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic, though of course those videos are relatively ancient. #9: Jenny Nicholson Confession time: about seven years or so ago I was quite into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It was a good show back then and I was always a sucker for fun musical numbers, so it was a nice fit (plus I didnât know how toxic the brony subculture was becoming so that didnât hamper my enjoyment of it). But anyways, I actually stumbled across Nicholson for the first time during that time period because she was making an abridged series of MLP: FIM called Friendship is Witchcraft, which was and IMO still is hilarious. She voiced all of the female characters (except Celestia), and when Hasbro was putting an end to it via copyright strikes, I lost sight of Nicholson... But earlier this year I rediscovered her and her wonderful, wonderful snark. If you enjoy nitpicking apart blockbusters, especially Star Wars, then Jenny is your gal. She could give screenwriting classes, her stuff is that good and funny. Sheâs also recently been hired by ScreenJunkies to host the Star Wars-centered Millenial Falcon, which I also recommend if you love the old SW like myself. Also we have officially passed the 100k subscriber threshold, so weâre talking about the popular kids now! #10: hbomberguy British people are inherently funny- and smart-sounding, even though most arenât (Iâm sorry British people; feel free to make as many Germany-bashing jokes as youâd like). But hbomberguy definitely is both smart and funny. Whether he is talking about (British) politics, responding to YouTube âskepticsâ or MRAs, or ranting about media for hours, heâs always a joy to watch and hear. Probably one of my favorite videos of his is his almost two hour long masterpiece âSherlock is Garbage, And Hereâs Whyâ, in which he finally managed to put into words why Sherlockâs fourth season was the worst and why Moffat is just a horrible, horrible showrunner including on Doctor Who, which is something that has hampered by enjoyment of Doctor Who and I wasât even fully aware of it and can finally express myself on this topic the way Iâve been wanting to for ages, and that should be enough of an endorsement from my end.
#11: Folding Ideas Dan, the Foldable Human, is an expert on editing, working behind the scenes in the movie industry, how YouTube works, and how culture shapes media. I honestly canât even summarize this channel even further because Iâve hit the nail on the head and just want to you watch this Canadian guy and hear him talk about mostly movies. âThe Art of Editing and Suicide Squadâ is a very good starting point in his videography, close to 1 million views, and it is everything you need to know about this channel in a 35 minute long package. Just check out at least that video and if you like what youâve seen, dig deeper. You most likely wonât regret it.
#12: Lindsay Ellis (The Nostalgia Chick) We have reached âthe big onesâ! Lindsay Ellis has been in online video for almost a decade now and she has mastered the art of the video essay. Sheâs been looking at media from a feminist perspective for ages now and her body of work speaks for herself. 90-ish episodes of The Nostalgia Chick, 23 episodes and counting for Loose Canon, where she examines how different characters have been portrayed throughout the years, thus far nine long-form video essays, and her recent series The Whole Plate, where she covers the basics of film studies by looking at Michael Bayâs Transformers. Check out her stuff, I implore you. You will spend hours watching her content and learn so, so much!
#13: Geek Remix (Mari and Stacy)
You love fun letâs plays hosted by several people but think that there should be more women doing so, too? Me, too! And that means youâll probably enjoy Geek Remix, aka Mari and Stacy, who are two lovely ladies playing so many games! Night in the Woods, Dragon Age Inquisition, Resident Evil 7, Life is Strange, Contradiction: Spot the Liar, and so many more. Otherwise you can also expect theory videos, conversations about human sexuality, easter egg listings, and a lot of other fun stuff on their channel, which with about 147k subs is definitely the most popular channel on this list. Special shoutout to my friend @hella-flawless-amythyst who introduced me to them, so if you get sucked in by Mari and Stacyâs charm, you can âblameâ her, too (if you actually blame her I will hunt you down though). So... That was my list. Lots of stuff on there, sadly nothing music-related if you were looking for that (but if you speak/understand German, I highly recommend Bina Bianca, who is just adorable and is an honorable mention), but I hope that youâve found a channel or two that might interest you. This took ages to write, by the way xD
